Disney Cruise Dining - Beach Blanket Buffet Review

Beach Blanket (Breakfast and lunch)

During our amazing 7-night cruise we eat at Beach Blanket at least three times – it was tasty and offered so much variety. When it came to breakfast we at “sit-down restaurants” three times, one of which was required, and then we alternated between Parrot Cay and Beach Blanket on the other days. We also ate at Beach Blanket for lunch on our day in Ketchikan. Everything we ate there was delicious – so now we’re going to do an overview of both meals at this awesome buffet and highlight our favorites.

There is inside and outside seating here – we loved sitting outside! Some of the outside seating is covered and some if not. Sitting all of the way at the back of the ship and just watching the water behind us while we enjoyed out meal was pretty cool and relaxing.

Breakfast

The breakfast buffet has just about anything that you could want for the first, and most important, meal of the day.

The restaurant has two sides, but in most cases only one side will be open – for the line that is, seating will still be available.

One inside there is two sides to the buffet – both sides have the same thing, so go with whatever side has a shorter line!

Breakfast offerings include:
·         A variety of fresh fruit
·         Cold meats, cheese, smoked salmon, tomatoes
·         Eggs
·         Bacon
·         Potatoes (Breakfast potatoes, hash browns)
·         Mickey Waffles
·         Grits
·         Donuts and pastries
·         Oatmeal
·         Yogurt and toppings
·         Cereals and milk

There is also a made to order omelet station.

We sampled most of the offerings and they were all quite delicious. The Mickey waffles were fluffy, the bacon crispy, and the pastries flaky.

Drinks include soft drinks, juices, coffee, tea, and milk.

Lunch

We surprised by all of the amazing lunch offers!

Offerings included:
·         Cold Salads (Chicken Curry, Waldorf, Bean
·         Sandwiches
·         Fresh Seafood
·         Cold Banana and Passion Fruit Soup
·         Pea Soup
·         Mac and Cheese
·         Chicken Strips
·         Bowtie Pasta with Sauce
·         Steamed Veggies
·         Mixed Veggies
·         Chicken Pot Pie
·         Ribs
·         Carved Meat
·         Bread and Cheeses
·         Create your own Salad
·         Baked Potato Bar
·         Desserts (Cakes, pudding, fresh fruit, Jell-O.)

The Chicken Pot Pie was quite tasty, and this is coming from someone that makes a mean chicken pot pie. The chicken and veggies were coated with a delicious and creamy gravy and the crust was buttery and flaky.

The ribs were tender and pretty much fell off the bone – they were nicely coated in a tangy sauce.

The Cold Banana and Passion fruit soup – well we had to give it a try – it was sweet, but not overly so, and had a nice banana flavor to it. We really enjoyed it.

We also really enjoyed the baked potato bar – huge potatoes and lots of toppings to choose from.

As for desserts, yum. You know that cake of the day that you’ve heard so much about that you can order from room service? Well, it’s the cake, most likely cheesecake, that they are serving during lunch here!

Overall
We had a great time and enjoyed everything we ate at Beach Blanket for both breakfast and lunch. We highly recommend it if you’re aboard the Disney Wonder.
