FairFax Fare at Disney's Hollywood Studios

On our last trip to Disney World we decided to try something new at Hollywood Studios – we like to try to add a new dining experience or restaurant every time we go. This time one of the new to us places that we tried was Fairfax Fare.

Fairfax Fare is located on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood Studios near to other dining options like Rosie’s All-American Café and Catalina Eddie’s. It is directly across from Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage. The restaurant itself is a simple walk up window where you order and then wait for your food. All of the seating is outside and it is shared with Rosie’s Catalina Eddie’s, but there is A LOT of it. From your table you can enjoy the scenery and the sunshine, listen to the screams coming from the Tower of Terror and people watch.

The Food

If you like classic barbecue fare, then you’ll enjoy the offerings at Fairfax Fare. The menu includes eats like spareribs, chicken, pulled pork, chili-cheese dogs, and a pulled pork salad.

We tried three menu items, the chili-cheese dog, the barbecue pork sandwich, and the chicken and ribs.

The Chili-cheese Dog was massive! We didn’t measure it, but we’re fairly certainly that it was maybe slightly less than a foot-long hot dog. The dog itself had great hot dog flavor and had a nice snap to it, exactly what you want in a hot dog. It was topped with TONS of meaty chili and shredded cheese. The chili was nicely seasoned and paired well with the dog, it was a very good chili-cheese dog. The dog was served with a bag of potato chips.

The Barbecue Pork Sandwich was a standard, but delicious, bun filled with shredded pork covered in tangy barbecue sauce and crisp, fresh coleslaw that was refreshing and cut through the richness of the sandwich. You know your sandwich is a good one when it is messy! The sandwich was served with juicy buttered corn on the cob, which was surprisingly sweet for being out of season (it was February) and tangy baked beans.

The chicken and ribs, like the other two items we tried, was delicious. The ribs, three of them, were coated in tangy, sticky, barbecue sauce. There was a lot of juicy and tender meat on the bones. The chicken, too, was moist and nicely seasoned. This dish was also served with beans and corn.

Everything we tried at Fairfax Fare was delicious. If you’re looking for somewhere that you can get shareable meals in Hollywood Studios, Fairfax Fare is the place for you. No matter what your order you’ll get more than enough food and you won’t be disappointed.
