Dinner at Royal Court on the Disney Fantasy

We’ve mentioned more than a few times that each of the four Disney ships has three main dining rooms. All four ships have the fun Animator’s Palate that we talked about a couple of weeks ago, as well as a themed dining rooms on the Magic and Wonder (Rapunzel’s and Tiana’s) and Enchanted Garden on the Dream and Fantasy. We’ll talk about Enchanted Garden in our next Disney Cruise Line focused post! This week, though, we’re excited to talk about the third main dining room on the Disney Fantasy, Royal Court. Royal Court, like Royal Palace on the Dream, Triton’s on the Wonder, and Lumiere’s on the Magic is the most upscale of the three main dining rooms.

Located right off the main lobby Royal Court is a grand dining room that celebrates Disney’s royal couples. Throughout the dining room there are mosaics of Disney Princess and their princes including Belle and Beast, Jasmine and Aladdin, Tiana and Naveen, Cinderella and Prince Charming, Aurora and Phillip, Ariel and Eric, and Snow White and the Prince.

Throughout the dining room you’ll also find lamps, as well as bread baskets, shaped like Cinderella’s carriage, and the table numbers feature princesses, too!

We dined at Royal Court a total of three times – once for the regular rotational dining menu that is specific to Royal Court, once for  the Captain’s Gala Menu on the last night of our cruise, and for breakfast on the last morning. Today we’re going to talk about what we ate on the regular Royal Court menu.  We’ll talk about what we enjoyed from the Captain’s Gala menu on the final evening of our sailing in a later post.

On our first evening at Royal Court the bread service was a Warm French Country Bread with Olive Spread. If you’re a fan of olives you’ll enjoy this spread. I personally do not like olives, so I enjoyed the warm bread with the butter provide.

We also enjoyed the Farmhouse Salad and the Breaded and Deep-Fried Brie from the appetizer list. The Farmhouse Salad is one of my favorite salads onboard. Tender leaves of baby spinach, asparagus, cherry tomatoes, and fingerling potatoes are dressed with a olive vinaigrette (it doesn’t taste overly olive-y, just like olive oil), and it is all served with a crispy goat cheese crostini. The tangy, creaminess of the goat cheese and the crisp bread – yum.

The Breaded and Deep-Fried Brie is another one of our favorites. As the name implies, it is cubes of creamy brie that has been breaded and deep fried to create a crunchy on the outside and melty on the inside cheese bite. It is served with a sweet and tangy orange and cranberry chutney that reminds me of Thanksgiving.

Each of us ordered an entrée. We went with one of my favorites, the Grilled Marinated Tofu, Roasted Zucchini, Eggplant, and Red Peppers. I’m sure you’re thinking, why would you order tofu? By no means are any of us vegetarians, in fact, the night before we dined at Royal Court I ordered prime rib! This dish is really good, though. Marinated and grilled tofu is served with tender and flavorful roasted red peppers, eggplant, and zucchini. A little bite of the veggies (even though two of them are technically fruit!) with each bite of tofu is delicious. The dish is served with a flavorful Israeli couscous (which is hard to do!) and it the tofu is topped with a cilantro-lime sauce. It is a really good dish.

We also ordered another favorite, the Crispy Roasted Duck Breast. Juicy, crisp skinned duck leg and breast are served with tender cabbage, creamy honey parsnip mash, and a dark red wine jus.

The kids enjoyed the Kid’s Cheeseburger and the Kid’s Steak. The cheeseburger is a standard cheeseburger, but there’s nothing wrong with that! Christian opted to not have veggies on his burger, and just enjoyed it as burger and cheese on a bun with ketchup and a side of crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside steak fries. For Bella we order just the steak portion of the kid’s steak, and it was a good portion of steak for a little lady – or even a bigger kid. The meat was tender and full of flavor. She enjoyed it, and we enjoyed the bite we tried as well!

While we’ve enjoyed the same menu at Triton’s on the Wonder before, we still in enjoy it all and look forward to sailing again.
