Sit-Down Breakfast at Triton's on the Disney Wonder

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day! We’ve all heard this, probably from our mothers, grandmothers, and TV. Food is important, especially on a cruise because it keeps us going through our busy, or relaxing, days while on and off the ship! And if you know us, you know that we all love food!

We normally like to start the day with a quick and casual breakfast at Cabanas, something from Daisy’s De Lites (on the Wonder and Magic), or a combination of the two. We have done sit-down breakfast twice before in the past, a character breakfast and one breakfast at Triton’s on our very first cruise. It was an okay experience, but it just wasn’t for us. We like to get our food, eat, and get started with all that we have planned for the day! On our last day on the Disney Wonder on our last sailing, a sea day, Christian decided that he wanted to have sit-down breakfast. We didn’t have much planned for the day, so we all got ready and headed to Triton’s. It was a much better experience than in 2015 and we’re glad that we did it.

Each day Triton’s is open for a sit-down breakfast experience that is more relaxed than dinner, but it is more structured than eating at Cabanas or Daisy’s De Lites. When we entered the restaurant, we were given a hand wipe to clean our hands, we were asked how many were in our party, and then were seated.
After we were seated we were greeted by our server, and given a menu to start looking over. There is something that everyone will enjoy on the breakfast menu: eggs, pancakes, French toast, hot and cold cereals, waffles, yogurt, fresh fruit, and more.

Just like at dinner everyone starts with a glass of water. Our server asked if we would like anything else to drink, and both kids opted for orange juice while Howard and I ordered coffee.
While we waited for our “main course” a platter of pastries was brought around for those that would like one to tide them over, or to go with their meal.

We ordered a plate of Fresh Fruit for the table to share. It included pineapple, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, cantaloupe, and papaya. The fruit on the ship is always so good, and this fruit was no different.

Christian ordered French Toast with a side of hash browns. Three thick slices of French toast served with maple syrup – yum!

Bella ordered the Mickey Waffles, because she loves waffles and eating Mickey shaped food is way more fun!  Two fluffy Mickey waffles are dusted with powdered sugar served with a side of fresh fruit that included cubes of melon, strawberries, pineapple, and grapes. Our server came to the table to bring syrup for both kids.

Howard ordered the Eggs Benedict. Two poached eggs with soft running centers, served atop toasted English muffins with hollandaise sauce and a choice of Grilled Canadian Bacon, Rosemary Ham and Tomatoes, or Smoked Salmon and Arugula. Howard went with the Rosemary Ham and it paired well with the dish. The earthiness of the rosemary helped to cut through the richness of the dish. He also ordered the Southern Hash. This dish included two eggs cooked to your liking – Howard went with over-easy – on hash-brown potatoes (think home fries) with chorizo sausage, cilantro, green onions, peppers, and melted Jack cheese. The dish was quite satisfying, the eggs, potatoes, sausage, and veggies paired well together. The only negative comment that Howard had was that the dish had a bit of an overwhelming green onion flavor. So, if you’re not a big green onion fan maybe ask for no green onions since they are raw in this dish.

I ordered the Peanut Butter and Jelly Typhoon. This is on the “For Children of All Ages” section of the menu. I couldn’t pass it up – I love peanut butter and jelly, and I love pancakes. This dish is a large pancake topped with a peanut butter swirl and a red jelly drizzle. It’s like eating peanut butter and jelly sandwich. It was so good! It was served with fresh fruit. I would definitely order this again!
We enjoyed our breakfast experience at Triton’s and look forward to adding it to our future cruises as well!
