Breakfast at Enchanted Garden on the Disney Dream

When we’re at home we normally have something simple for breakfast. The kids normally have cereal, mini muffins, or some days, Christian wants a sandwich. Most days I rotate between a protein shake, a protein bar, or a banana with peanut butter. As you can see, we’re simple breakfast people… except when we’re on vacation! I love a big breakfast at a hotel, or on a cruise ship!

On our most recent trip we decided to make the most of our time on the Disney Dream by trying out a new-to-us breakfast experience that is only available on the bigger ships. The Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy both offer breakfast at Enchanted Garden, normally just one day per cruise. We knew that it would be a while before we’re sailing on one of the bigger ships again, and we love new experiences, especially dining experiences, so we decided to check it out!

**Keep in mind that when cruises begin again things will be changed, at least for a little while. This cruise took place in late January/ early February of 2020, and what is written below is how things were when we sailed.**

For those that don’t know, Enchanted Garden is one of the three main dining rooms on both the Dream and the Fantasy. Located on deck 2, Enchanted Garden transports you to a beautiful European garden. As you enter through the gates on the stone pathway you see a large fountain, that just so happens to feature Mickey Mouse. Greens and whites are the center of attention color wise, here. The ceiling reflects the color of the sky during your dining time. At dinner the colors change as the sky does when the sun sets. The ceiling also features large flowers, that during dinner, bloom over the course of the meal.

Breakfast at Enchanted Garden isn’t quite like eating at Cabanas, even though it is a buffet. Much time at breakfast and lunch at Triton’s on the Wonder, when we first arrived for breakfast at Enchanted Garden, we were given a hand wipe and asked how many were in our party. Once we were seated, we were asked what we would like to drink, and then were told that we could make our way to the buffet line. In that aspect, it was a lot like going to a buffet at home.

We made our way to the buffet where delicious eats awaited us!

Much like at Cabanas there was a wide variety of choices! Meats, cheeses, eggs, pastries, Mexican hot pockets, pancakes, waffles, corned beef hash, breakfast potatoes, hash browns, fresh fruit, yogurt, and cold cereal.

Additionally, there was, my favorite part, the muesli bar. You can get at breakfast at Cabanas, you can get it in the main dining room, at breakfast, and you can get it at Enchanted Garden. Each cruise there is one thing that I just keep going back to each and every breakfast. Some cruises it has been oatmeal, but on the Dream, and on the Wonder, it was muesli. If you’re not familiar with muesli it is whole grains and fried fruit it is normally soaking in milk when it is served. It is slightly sweet from the fruit, it is soft, and crunchy, and delicious. The muesli bar allows you to have additional dried fruit, nuts, and other mix-ins added. I went with almonds and dried pineapple. Many other dried fruits, including apricots, raisins, blueberries, and prunes were available. In addition to the almonds, walnuts were also available. (When enjoying this dish at Cabanas I also added chocolate chips.)

We had a great experience eating breakfast at Enchanted Garden. The food was delicious, and we probably ate too much of it! We will definitely eat breakfast at Enchanted Garden again, next time we are on either the Dream or the Fantasy.

If you don’t want a full sit-down style meal where you have to order and then wait for your food, but you like to be seated by a serve and order your drink before heading to the buffet, then Enchanted Garden is the place for you on the day that breakfast is offered there!

Have you had breakfast at Enchanted Garden?!
