Disney Cruise Line Room Service Lunch
We’ve talked about food a lot lately, but who doesn’t love food?! We definitely love food, especially cruise food! Today we’re here to talk about ordering room service while on a Disney Cruise.
We’ve ordered room service before, but it is normally just cookies and milk, or cake of the day, or a Mickey ice cream bar. We definitely recommend ordering each of those at least once! Today, though, we’re going to talk about the lunch that we ordered from room service on the last sea day of our last cruise!
Before we get to that, though, let’s talk a little about Disney Cruise Line’s room service.
When is it available?
Room service can be ordered beginning at 1:30PM on embarkation day, this is when staterooms are first ready. After that it can be ordered 24 hours a day until 1:00AM on the last night of your cruise. Once you place your call it normally takes about 30 minutes for your order to arrive.
How do I order?
The room service menu can be found in the large book on the stateroom desk. The breakfast menu is on a door hanger that can be found in the middle desk drawer. To order breakfast simply fill out the door hanger and place on the outside door handle the night before you would like breakfast. To order anything else simply call room service on the stateroom phone, place your order, and relax while you wait.
What is available?
Since room service is available 24 hours a day there is a variety of options.

Since those that deliver room service are not included in your normal gratuity, it is customary to tip $1-2 per item ordered.
Snacks like salted nuts, M&Ms, Buttered Popcorn as well as specialty drinks, alcoholic beverages and specialty coffees are available at an additional charge.
Our Room Service Lunch
We had planned on ordering a few things from room service over the course of our sailing on the Dream and the Wonder, however, we never had enough space for it on the Dream. So, on the last day of our cruise on the Wonder we decided to order room service for lunch. We had ordered room service lunch once before, on our very first Disney Cruise in 2015, on a day that Christian fell asleep on my lap and we didn’t know how lunch he was going to nap for. On that occasion we ordered a cheeseburger, a hot dog, and chicken tenders. On our most recent sailing, though, we ordered a few things that we had been wanting to try for a while.
We had read a lot of good things about the Buffalo Chicken Wings around the internet, and we wanted to get them a try. We’re not really fans of buffalo sauce most of the time, but these wings were quite good. The chicken was tender, the sauce wasn’t too sticky or overpowering. The wings were served with carrot and celery sticks, and we ordered ranch dressing instead of blue cheese. They were satisfying wings and I would order them again!
Christian is a big grilled cheese fan and the Grilled Cheddar Cheese Sandwich was his choice for lunch for the day. Melty cheddar cheese sandwiched between toasty bread – what’s not to love! That sandwich was good (from the one bite I was allowed to have) and he really enjoyed it. It was served with a small serving of coleslaw and wavy potato chips.
Another dish that we wanted to try, that we knew we would all enjoy, is the Cheese Pizza. Thick, bready crust topped with tomato sauce, and melty mozzarella cheese. It isn’t a huge pizza, but that’s a good thing because you can have it as a snack, or part of a combination of dishes like we did. It is not a New York or Chicago style pizza, but it is satisfying!
We were also intrigued when we were looking over the menu before the cruise and saw Baked Macaroni and Cheese. Creamy, cheesy mac and cheese topped with breadcrumbs! The dish was incredibly satisfying, we could have and should have ordered more than one of these! Be careful when this dish arrives, it is HOT!
We finished the meal with a Mickey Ice Cream Bar. This is the Mickey bar that you know and love from the Disney Parks. It is available from room service, and it is also on the kid’s dessert menu in the main dining rooms.
We enjoyed everything that we got from room service, and we got some fresh fruit from Daisy’s De Lites to go with it. It was a delicious, and satisfying lunch! We look forward to ordering more food from room service in the future!
