Disney Wonder - Overview

Disney Cruise Line has four ships, the Magic, the Wonder, the Dream, and the Fantasy. The Dream and Fantasy are the two newest and two biggest ships, and they mainly sail in the Bahamas and Caribbean. The Magic and the Wonder may be smaller and older than the other two ships, but they do the bulk of the work and travel all over the world.

The Disney Wonder was our home for seven nights as we sailed through the majestic Inner Passage of Alaska. While the Wonder may be the second oldest ship in the Disney fleet, it is a beautiful ship with lots (11 decks) to explore.

Today we're going to give you an overview of all that the ship has to offer by deck.

Deck 1
* This deck is mostly staterooms.
* But it is also where you can find the medical center if need be... Hopefully you won't need it.

Deck 2
* Again, mostly staterooms.
* This deck is also where you can find Edge – the kid’s club for 11-14.
* There is also a laundry room on this deck.

Deck 3
* Deck 3 is the first part of the ship that you will see. The Lobby, as well as Guest Services, and the Port Adventures desk can be found at deck 3 mid-ship.
* Triton’s, a Little Mermaid themed restaurant that serves three meals a day and is a main dining location also greets you at mid-ship.
* The forward part of the deck is where you will find the adult only clubs. The Cadillac Lounge, Wavebands, and Diversions are all 18 and over after 9pm. Wavebands is also where many of the port adventure groups meet before debarking. The sections of the ship is also where you will find the Duty Free store (Radar Trap).
* The Promenade Lounge is the place to relax with a drink, search the web in the internet café, or Wake Up with Disney Junior.
* Deck 3 aft houses Parrot Cay – one of the three main dining restaurants that boasts a tropical feel. Breakfast and lunch are also served here, buffet style.

Deck 4
* This is the first deck on which you can step outside and see the world. The outside portion of the deck stretches all of the way around the ship. It offers lounges chairs and benches, shuffleboard, a jogging path, and is where you will meet for your life boat drill on embarkation day.
* The forward part of this deck houses the Walt Disney Theater where nightly shows are performed live. Just outside the theater is Preludes where you can purchase snacks before the show.
* Treasure Ketch and Mickey’s Mates, the two gift shops, can also be found here on the way to mid-ship.
* Deck 4 mid-ship is a continuation of the atrium which houses the Disney Vacation Club and future cruise sales desks.
* Studio Sea, a family club that hosts character meets and dance parties is also located at mid-ship.
* As you make your way from the atrium towards aft you will pass through the Art Gallery which showcases beautiful Disney art. You will also pass through Shutters which is where you can purchase the professional photos taken throughout your voyage.
* Lastly, deck 4 aft is home to Animator’s Palate. This main dining restaurant shows you how the beloved Disney characters come to life.

Deck 5
* Forward and aft are home to staterooms.
* The Oceaneer Club and the Oceaneer Lab, both kid’s clubs for those ages 3-12 are located on this deck mid-ship.
* Flounder’s Reef Nursery, for kids under three for an additional fee is also located on this deck.
* This is the last floor for the atrium and is a great place to watch the parties that take place in the lobby if you don’t want to be part of the crowd.
* The Buena Vista Theater rounds out this deck – this is where you can get your movie fix. Popcorn is also sold outside the theater.

Deck 6
* Staterooms line this deck, port and starboard, from forward to aft.
* A laundry room can also be found on this deck.

Deck 7
* Like deck 6, this deck is all about staterooms.
* The final laundry room can be found on this deck.

 Deck 8
* Staterooms fill this deck.
* All of the way aft there is a small lookout deck.

Deck 9
* This deck is full of excitement and is where you can step outside again.

* The Wide World of Sports Deck is located forward – enjoy basketball, soccer, foosball, or ping pong.
* The Outlook Cafe is the upstairs portion on the Cove Café and can be found at deck 10 forward.
* Mid-ship is a great place to watch the deck parties that take place on deck 9 without being part of the crowd.
* Deck 10 aft is where you will find Palo, the signature dining location, which is available for an additional fee for those 18 and over.
* The deck is rounded out by an open portion of the aft deck where you can sit and relax.

Deck 11
* This “deck” is inside the funnel and is home of the teen club Vibe. This club is for those that are 14-17 and the entrance is on deck 10.

As you can see, there is a lot to experience on this Wonder-ous ship. We hope that you get the change to take it all in on a magical Disney cruise.
