Disney Wonder - Inside Stateroom

There are a lot of reviews out there that tell you about the deluxe outside staterooms and staterooms with verandahs – but those are not the only staterooms available. On our cruise we had a standard inside stateroom and we really enjoyed it.

Since our room was inside, not only was it cheaper, but there was also no unwanted light coming in through windows. The Wonder travels to and from Alaska all summer, and as you probably know, Alaska sees a lot of sun during the summer time. Once you enter your inside stateroom you can turn off the all of the lights (and TV) and be in almost complete darkness. Great for sleeping at night or an afternoon nap on sea days.

So, what can you expect to find in your inside stateroom? Believe it or not, it is actually pretty spacious. Christian is 14 months old now and LOVES to run around – there was plenty of room for him to burn off energy in our room. Our room was on the port side of the ship, so it went long ways from aft to forward (back to front). As soon as we walked in the couch, which folds down into a bed, as well as the coffee table were directly in front of us.

To the left was the closet which actually has a lot of storage space. We stored Christian’s car seat in there and were still able to hang all of our dress clothes.

A small storage shelf and a safe are also in the closet.

The bathroom, which includes a bathtub/shower is also on this side of the room. There isn’t a whole lot of room in here, but how much room do you really need to go to the bathroom. The bathtub is great for those with children that takes baths. Be careful in the shower if you’re tall, it is a low ceiling.

If you go right from the door you come to the bed. The queen bed, which is flanked by nightstands with drawers, is incredibly comfortable. There is storage space under the bed that can accommodate suitcases.

By the foot of the bed there is a desk with drawers that are great for holding your clothes, if you don’t have a toddler that pulls all of the clothes out that is. Beside the desk is a trunk, which we kept some of our clothes in, that also provides a lot of storage space.

The last section holds is the beverage cooler that sits under the TV. Above the TV is yet another cabinet.

There is so much storage space available – we highly recommend unpacking on the first day to make things easier. While there may not be an ocean view, these rooms provide a great place to take a break in the afternoon, and make cruising slightly more affordable. Don’t under estimate the inside state rooms.
