Our Trip to Universal

A few weeks ago, we shared that we were going to be Universal Orlando during our trip to Florida. We were there just over a week ago, and unlike our first experience in June, we had a good time this time.

We learned from our trip in June that we needed to arrive early so that we didn’t have a HUGE line to get off of I-4 and into the parking garage. Universal Studios opened for early admission at 7:00AM, and we were starting out with Islands of Adventure, so when we arrived at the parking lot at around 8:20AM there was no one ahead of us to pay to park.

Security went much more smoothly than in June, there was no one in front of us. And when we got to the park entrance, it took us about five minutes to get into the park once it opened.

Once in the park, we headed straight to Hogsmead, and Christian and I went on Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. I had A LOT of fun on the ride. It was fast, it was fun, it was cool to see all of the different parts of the ride. I look forward to going on it again on our next trip.

After that all four of us rode Flight of the Hippogriff twice. Bella LOVES roller coasters, and she loved this one. Before the ride stopped the first time, she said she wanted to ride it again. The second time she had her hands up.

The next experience was just that, an experience. Christian and I headed into Hogwarts Castle to ride Forbidden Journey. Walking through the castle was incredibly cool, and the ride itself was really cool. However, I did NOT feel good after the ride. If you haven’t been on the ride before, it is one that has a very high potential of causing motion sickness.

After letting my head and stomach settle a little, Christian and I headed to Popeye and Bluto’s Blige-rat Barges. Christian LOVED it. We rode it twice.

After cooling off, we headed to Seuss Landing to ride One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. The kids loved that one, too.

That finished off our time at Islands of Adventure, and we boarded the Hogwarts Express for Kings Cross Station at Universal Studios.

We had lunch at the Leaky Cauldron, we’ll have another post just about that, and ice cream from Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlor. We watched the dragon breathe fire, and walked around Diagon Alley.

After leaving the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Christian wanted to go on Transformers: The Ride – 3D and Despicable Me Minion Mayhem. He loved them both.

Overall, we all had a good time at Universal Studios Orlando, and we’re glad that we gave it another chance.
