8 Reasons We Sail With Disney Cruise Line

There are so many cruise lines out there to choose from. Each one has something unique to offer. So, we’re sure you’re wondering, why do we keep going back to Disney? Today we’re here to tell you the 8 Reasons Why We Sail With Disney Cruise Line!

1. The Magic of Disney – If you’ve ever walked into a Disney Park, or onto a Disney Cruise Line ship, you know that Disney has something special about it. There is a buzz in the air, it brings a smile to your face, and a happiness to your whole being. At least, that’s how it is for me. Every time I walked into one of the Disney Parks, or step onto a Disney Cruise Line ship, I feel like I’m home. There really is just something special about being on Disney property. This feeling, this sense of happiness and being home, is one of the reasons why we sail with Disney!

2. Level of Service – Disney goes above and beyond to make sure that their guests are happy, and this does not stop when you leave dry land. The cast and crew of the Disney Cruise Line ships are amazing, and will help you with anything that you need. Your dining team, server and assistant server especially, get to know you throughout your cruise, and by the end they feel like family. The know what drink you like, they’ll cut your kid’s food, and they’ll do their best to make sure that everyone is happy. Your stateroom host knows you by name, how you like your room for bedtime, and they work so incredibly hard. Everyone on the ships work so hard to make sure that everything goes smoothly, and they are always smiling!

3. Youth Clubs – This is a big one for us. Other cruise lines have youth clubs, but they don’t have Disney youth clubs! Christian is in the age group that goes to the Oceaneer Club and Lab and these fun, themed areas are where he spends A LOT of his time throughout the cruise. These clubs have rooms with unique themes like Toy Story, Frozen, Dr. Junior, Marvel Academy, the Millennium Falcon, and more! Bella is still not old enough for these clubs yet, but she does get to go to It’s A Small World Nursery where she has a lot of fun. When they kids get older they have Edge and Vibe to look forward to! They get the chance to play, learn, make friends, and are supervised by amazing, friendly, caring cast members. Additionally, all except the nursery are FREE!

4. All That’s Included – Disney Cruise can have a bit of sticker shock, especially if it is your first time booking, and if you have come form cruising with other cruise lines. However, we sail with Disney because so much is included in the cruise fare, that you don’t really pay for much once you’re onboard! Your cruise fare includes your stateroom, nightly dining in the main dining room, quick service dining on the pool deck, the buffet, room service, soft-serve ice cream, 24/7 beverage station, live shows each night, character meet and greets, trivia, crafts, themed days like Star Wars or Marvel Day at Sea (only select sailings), fireworks at sea, youth clubs, and more! You can check out our post on what’s all included here.

5. Characters – We’re a Disney family, and we LOVE to meet characters. On our last two cruises Bella especially loved walking up to a character all by herself and getting to interact with them! Character meet and greets are a lot of fun, and you never know who you might run into while you’re walking around the ship!

6. Value – This ties into what’s included, but it also is a stand alone category. So much is included in the price of your cruise, but your cruise is really what you make it! You can try to do 30 things in a day, or you can relax. You can get off the ship and do a Port Adventure in every port, or you want stay on the ship. Your cruise is your cruise! We feel, though, that even if we just relax, meet a few characters, spend time as a family by the pool, let the kids go to the Club, and enjoy food pretty much all day long that it is worth it! We also have days where we are going from sun up to sun down with things to do! No matter that we do, a Disney Cruise is valuable.

7. Cleanliness – The cruise industry has high standards for cleanliness, but Disney exceeds those. We’ve seen some ships that have been in port with us that look old and, while not exactly dirty, they were not exactly sparkling clean either. If you want around the ship, especially early in the morning when only those getting an early workout are walking around, you’ll see crew members cleaning. All through the day and night crew members are not only cleaning staterooms, but also wiping down handrails and the walls, cleaning the elevators, the floors, the outdoor decks! The Disney ships are so incredibly clean, and there are hand wipes at every dining location, even at the soft-serve and quick service locations. On our last cruise on the Wonder there was also a sink for hand-washing around by Pete’s Broiler Bites. Due to the current coronavirus situation, when cruises resume we can only expect cleanliness standards to be even higher than they were before, and I think that Disney is well prepared.

8. It’s Addicting – This might actually be our number one reason. If someone had told us before we went on our first cruise how much we would love it, we wouldn’t have believed just how much we would fall in love with Disney Cruise Line. When we were waiting in line to check in at the Port of Vancouver in August 2015 a family behind us was telling another family that they would never sail with anyone else. From the moment we stepped onto the Disney Wonder for our cruise to Alaska we were hooked. All of the time we’ve spent on a cruise ship just makes us want to keep going back for more!
