Cabanas Buffet on the Disney Fantasy

The Disney Fantasy has so many great places to enjoy a meal or a snack – and we’ve talked about most of them already over the past couple of months. Today, though, we have information about Cabanas – the buffet on the Disney Fantasy – that offers delicious eats for breakfast, lunch, and late night offerings on Pirate Night and on Star Wars Day at Sea! Each day at least one of the main dining rooms offers a sit-down breakfast experience. They offer favorites like pancakes, waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, and pastries. You can order whatever you want, and as much of it as you would like, and if you enjoy being served a leisurely breakfast it is a great experience. We enjoyed it the two times that we ventured to the dining room for breakfast on the Wonder on our first cruise way back in 2015. We have not been back to a main dining room for breakfast since then, though. The experience was a good one, and the food was delicious – but it’s just not really our thing. We prefer to sta

Enjoy a Delicious Meal at The Diamond Horseshoe

On the last evening of our most recent trip to Disney World we had our last meal together with all of the family that was on our trip with us at The Diamond Horseshoe. This was the second time that Christian and I dined here, but the first time since the menu overhaul. We enjoyed our first meal here in September 2017 and were excited to try it again on this past trip. The Diamond Horseshoe is a laid back, family-style table service restaurant in the Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Square. You’ll find it right next to another one of our dinner favorites, Liberty Tree Tavern. While Liberty Tree Tavern has a colonial feel to it, The Diamond Horseshoe has a western feel, like the rest of Frontierland, which you’ll find right next door. The lunch time menu, like Liberty Tree Tavern, is a la carte, and dinner is served family-style. What does that mean? Dinner has a set menu and platters of the menu items are brought to the table for each member of you dining party to take as much

The Captain's Gala Menu on the Disney Fantasy

On the last evening of our sailing on the Fantasy we were back at Royal Court to enjoy the fanciest of the main dining room menus, the Captain’s Gala. This is the menu that features dishes like lobster tail, venison, and chocolate lava cake. We’re not very fancy people, but we do love slightly fancy flavors, so we love this menu. The meal begins, as all Disney Cruise Line dinners begin, with bread service. The Captain’s Gala Menu features a delicious Sourdough Bread with a sweet Roasted Red Pepper Dip . This is by far my favorite of all of the bread service dipping sauces. We always end up asking for more. It pairs perfectly with the sourdough, but it is also really good with the regular rolls that are in the bread basket as well. When it came time for appetizers we enjoyed the Aged Prosciutto and the Lightly Breaded Bake Eggplant . The delicious salty Italian ham is served with Parmesan cheese, roasted garlic, and sun-dried tomatoes. It all pairs so well together, and the b

Dinner and a Show at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater

When I was growing up I was lucky enough to live about thirty minutes from a drive-in movie “theater.” We went a fair amount as a kid, even more as a teenager, and as an adult in California we went even more! I loved being able to see and talk during movies, and the best part was the ability to bring my own snacks! Seeing movies under the stars was always a lot of fun, and so is eating at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. When you walk up to Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater you’re met with a marquee and sign that make you feel as though you’re walking into a movie theater. Off to the side there is also a car prop where you can take photos! If you arrive a little early for a reservation you may just be offered a small cup of popcorn – yum! When you make your way inside you’ll see various movie props, and as you get closer to being seated you’ll see signs to dim your headlights. The seating area here is mostly filled with cars – you are at the drive-in after all! Most
