Casey's Corner Review

One of the great things about Disney is that there are so much variety in terms of food. You can find something to satisfy just about anyone. While there a so many options that are not your standard theme park food, sometimes it is nice to go back to that for a meal or a snack, though.

So, if you're looking for a place to get some classic theme park fare in Magic Kingdom Casey's Corner may just be the place for you. You'll find it located at the end of Main Street. It is the last thing on Main Street on your left, if you are facing the Castle, before you can make the left towards Crystal Palace.

Casey's is themed after Casey at the Bat which is an 1888 poem by Ernest Thayer. There is also a 1946 Walt Disney video. If you haven't seen it, check it out on Youtube. Both the poem and video are about a baseball player named Casey and his baseball team. Casey's Corner is themed as an old time baseball stadium with a statue of a baseball player greeting you outside. To match the baseball theme Casey's serves ballpark fare to include hotdogs, cotton candy, and Cracker Jacks.

Food
Specialty hot dogs are the main draw here, but corn dog nuggets and ballpark nachos are also available in addition to snacks. In the past we have tried the Barbeque Slaw Dog and the Chili Cheese Dog. Each hot dog comes with fries or apple slices – and if you’re on the dining plan a quick service credit will also get you a drink and a dessert with your dog and fries.

The dogs here have great flavor and the snap that most people are looking for in a hot dog. The only downside is that the buns are longer than the dogs. Even if you decide that the Polish, Barbeque Slaw, or Chili Cheese dogs are not for you and instead you opt for the plain dog you can customize it at the condiment station. Available at this station is the standard ketchup and mustard as well as sauerkraut, onions, and melted cheese.

The Barbeque Slaw dog is topped with barbeque pulled pork and coleslaw. The pork is a nice complement to the dog and the sauce makes it so that no other condiments such as ketchup are necessary. The slaw is crunchy and tangy – it cuts through the pork and dog and ties everything together. This dog is messy, you will need napkins.

The Chili Cheese dog is your standard chili cheese dog, but if that’s what you’re looking for you will certainly enjoy this one.

The fries are the standard Disney quick-service fries, but there is nothing wrong with that.

The brownies are pre-packaged, but they have a good chocolate flavor and are a good addition to the meal.

If you only want to check out Casey’s for a snack cotton candy, brownies, Cracker Jacks, fries and drinks are available for snack credits.

Overall
We have eaten at Casey’s twice and believe that it is worth the quick service credit. So, if you’re in Magic Kingdom, looking for a filling meal, and have theme park or ballpark food on your mind Casey’s is the place for you.
