We Went to Peppa Pig Theme Park!

This past weekend we went to Peppa Pig Theme Park and all had an oinktastic time.  Bella LOVES Peppa Pig. It is on in our house all of the time. And when we foudn out that Peppa Pig Theme Park was opening we starting making plans visit.  Peppa Pig Theme Park is located in Winter Haven, Florida. It opened in February 2022, and it is a stand alone park at the Legoland Florida Resort.  It is a family park, but it is especially perfect for those with preschoolers. With that said, Christian, who turns 8 this week had a great time.  Rides The park has five rides, all of them are A LOT of fun.  The first ride that you'll see when you walk into the park is Daddy Pig's Roller Coaster .  Daddy Pig is trying to take a shortcut, but he, and you, end up back at Peppa's house. The roller coaster car itself looks like Daddy Pig's car, and to get to the ride you'll need to walk through Peppa's house. You go around the track twice befor the ride is over, it is perfect for a...

We're Back! A Look Ahead at Our Upcoming Travel Plans

Image
It has been a while since we last posted, and for that we apoligize. I wasn't sure what to write about, and for a while I wasn't sure if I wanted to continue writing or not. But we're back! Our last familt trip was back at the beginning of April, and it's hard to believe that that was almost two months ago already. Since then, Howard has traveled twice for work, and the kids and I went to Pittsburgh for a week. While we were in Pittsburgh I ran the half marathon at the Pittsburgh Marathon weekend.  We have a busy June when it comes to travel, though! Right now we have plans for a family trip to Disney World and Peppa Pig Theme Park. Bella is especially excited for Peppa Pig.  We also have a trip planned to Pittsburgh to celebrate my cousins graduation, and I'll be there for my birthday. Right after that, my sister and I have a girls trip to Disney World. June will be busy, but we're looking forward to it! Most of the rest of summer will be spent in South Carolin...

Our Favorite Epcot Flower and Garden Festival Eats

At the beginning of April we spent a day at Epcot enjoying all that the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival had to offer.  The kids especially loved the Butterfly Garden, the Healthful Trail (playground) and Spike's Pollen Nation Exploration and the Easter scavenger hunts. All four of loved seeing the plants and gardens from around the world, and of course seeing the amazing topiaries of Disney characters around the park. And of course, just like at all Epcot festivals, we LOVED trying eats and treats around the park.  During our time at the festival we tried... Toasted Pretzel Bread topped with black forest ham and melted Gruyère cheese  - This dish keeps coming back year after year, and it's a tasty one. The name of the dish really says it all for this one. Toasty bread topped with salty ham, and melty cheese. It's a great combination.  BLT Scone with Nueske’s applewood-smoked bacon, sundried tomato, and basil - Wait, a BLT scone?! Yes, you read that rig...

Our Day at Sea on the Disney Dream

It has been on week since we disembarked from the Disney Dream! It was so amazing to be back on a cruise ship again after two years away. Especially, because we did have to reschedule the cruise we were supposed to take in February. We had a great time at Disney World in February, and our reschedule cruise last week was amazing. I love stopping in ports, and exploring new cities, but my favorite part of being on a ship is just relaxing and enjoying the ship on sea days. So, what exactly do we do on sea days? No two sea days are the same, but on most sea days we do a lot of the same things.  Our cruise last week stopped at Castaway Cay, and we also had a sea day. We spent the day enjoying all that the Disney Dream had to offer, and spending time together, and some time apart.  We started the day by sleeping in a little, the night before we had been up late for the fireworks! After getting up, and getting ready, we headed up to Cabanas to get some food that we brought back to th...

Our Number One Road Trip Stop - Buc-ee's

Image
Have you heard of Buc-ee's?  Have you been to Buc-ee's? If you haven't heard about it, or been to one, you're in for a treat.  Before we moved to Texas, way back when we lived in California, we learned about Buc-ee's from my boss that lived in Texas. "It's an amazing gas station." "It's HUGE!" "They have the cleanest bathrooms." And all of these claims are 100% true.  Buc-ees started in Texas, and now there are locations in Texas (35), Alabama (2), Florida (2), Georgia (2) and one is coming to South Carolina this year. There website states, " Ever since our inception in 1982, we have been committed to providing a clean, friendly, and in stock experience for our customers. Regardless of where you may find us, if the store is big or small, near or far, the mission remains the same."  We went to Buc-ee's for the first time in 2016 on the way to Galveston for a Disney cruise, and now we stop whenever we can. When we fi...
