Our Day at Sea on the Disney Dream

It has been on week since we disembarked from the Disney Dream! It was so amazing to be back on a cruise ship again after two years away. Especially, because we did have to reschedule the cruise we were supposed to take in February. We had a great time at Disney World in February, and our reschedule cruise last week was amazing. I love stopping in ports, and exploring new cities, but my favorite part of being on a ship is just relaxing and enjoying the ship on sea days. So, what exactly do we do on sea days?

No two sea days are the same, but on most sea days we do a lot of the same things.

Our cruise last week stopped at Castaway Cay, and we also had a sea day. We spent the day enjoying all that the Disney Dream had to offer, and spending time together, and some time apart.

We started the day by sleeping in a little, the night before we had been up late for the fireworks!

After getting up, and getting ready, we headed up to Cabanas to get some food that we brought back to the stateroom and ate on the verandah.

After breakfast, we got into our swim gear, but before heading to the pool, we went to the atrium to meet some characters. When we sailed, all it says in the Navigator app is that a character is meeting. It doesn't say which character at the moment, but Cast Members let us know that this should be changing in the next few weeks. We met "regular clothes" Mickey and Minnie together, and Bella met Tiana.

After meeting characters, we headed up to the pool deck. Bella spent over an hour going down the Mr. Ray slide in the Nemo's Reef splash area. Christian took turns with Howard and I going on the AquaDuck for a while, he went on the Mickey slide a few times, and then he spent quite a while in the Donald Pool practicing going down to the bottom of the pool and popping back up to the surface.

*TIP* If you want a less crowded time at the pool on a sea day, go as soon as the pool opens for the day.

After a little over an hour at the pool, we went back to the room to get changed. Bella was ready for a nap, and Christian was ready to go to the Oceaneer Club. On the way to the Club we stopped in the atrium to see what character was out, and we got there just in time to meet Pluto.

After that, Christian went to the Club, and I went to the fitness center ro run. On the way back downstairs from the gym, I ran into Donald Duck out on deck 12.

Once Bella was up from her nap, we all ate lunch from Cabanas and Flo's. And then it was up to the Sports Deck to play Goofy Golf. And we met Goofy!

After all that excitement, it was time for one of our favorite sea day activities, enjoying the Ralph's Family Challenge Sundae from Vanellope's Sweets and Treats! We all went to the ice cream shop to pick the flavors and toppings for the sundae, and we brought it back to the room and enjoyed it on the verandah.

Think we had had enough fun at this point?! NOPE! After enjoying the sundae, we completed the second and third Midship Detective Agency puzzles, got the kids a stuffed animal each from Mickey's Mainsail, and both kids spent some time in the Oceaneer Club.

Before dinner we met Captian Mickey and Captian Minnie together, and Bella met Snow White, Cinderella, and Bella.

And then, it was time for at Animator's Palate.

After dinner, the kids went to the Club for one last time. Howard and I watched the character dance party on the pool deck. And then we went to Outlook for a whiskey tasting.

After some soft-serve, Bella and Howard went back to the room, and Christian and I eneded the night meeting Captian Mickey and Captian Minnie again, and meeting Goofy.

Are all of our sea days so busy? No, and truthfully, this one didn't feel busy either. We wanted to see and do all that we could during the short amount of time that we had on the Dream.

We're all looking forward to our next cruise, and more sea days!
