The Disney Wish

At the end of April, Disney Cruise Line revealed many details about their newest ship, the Disney Wish. The ship is going to be AMAZING! We’re so excited about the newest addition to the Disney Cruise Line fleet, and we can’t wait to step aboard and set sail. Actually, this morning, early booking opened for Gold Castaway Club members for Summer 2022 sailings, and we are officially booked! So, what do we have to look forward to on this new ship?

The brand-new ship will set sail on its maiden voyage, a five-night cruise, in June 2022. After that, it will sail three and four-night cruise in the Bahamas from Port Canaveral. At this point dates and itineraries have been announced through September 2022.

One of the most important parts of a cruise ship is the staterooms. The Wish will of course have inside, oceanview, verandah, and concierge staterooms like the other four DCL ships. However, the Wish will be the first Disney ship to have two two-story royal suites, and a two-story suite in the forward funnel! The Disney Cruise Line website states, “From an imaginative inside retreat to an abundantly appointed suite, all of our world-class accommodations feature artwork and subtle decorative touches that celebrate iconic animated films and characters, letting you and your loved ones stay connected to the magic of Disney storytelling while traveling the high seas in high style.

When it comes to cruising, the first thing we think about is our stateroom, and immediately following that we think of food. And the dining options on the Wish are going to be completely different than the other ships. Guests will be transported to Arendelle where they’ll enjoy dishes with Nordic flair and see Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf at Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure. 1923 will take guests back in time to the glamour of old Hollywood. The last of the main dining rooms, Worlds of Marvel, will celebrate the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The pool deck is another big deal in our house. There will be family pools, as well as the adult-only Quiet Cove. Little ones will get to enjoy the Toy Story Splash Zone! There will also be Slide-a-saurus Rex that is reminiscent of the Pixar short, Party-saurus-Rex. The one thing that Christian is most excited about it The AquaMouse. This attraction is going a combination of waterslide and show with scenes from a brand-new Mickey Mouse short.

The Walt Disney Theater will be home to a reimagined Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular and two new original shows that have not yet been announced. Guests can also find entertainment in Wonderland Cinema, Neverland Cinema, and Luna.

Hero Zone will be home to sports courts, a playground, game-show-style competitions and more.

Both kids LOVE the youth clubs, and the Oceaneer Club on the Wish is going to keep them happy! Marvel Super Heroes will have a home in the Club, and kids will have the chance to see heroes like Spider-Man, Black Panther, Ant Man, and the Wasp. Kids can also learn all about being an imagineer in the Walt Disney Imagineering Lab. The Disney Princesses will also call the Club home inside Fairytale Hall.

“it’s a small world” Nursery will delight the smallest cruisers, and Edge and Vibe will be there for tweens and teens to hang out as well.

Adults will have brand-new places of their own to explore as well! Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge will showcase views of Star Wars worlds and serve out-of-this-world beverages. The Rose, Palo Steakhouse, and Enchante by Chef Arnaud Lallement will provide adult-only dining experiences.

The deck plans for this amazing new ship are on the Disney Cruise Line website, and there is still so much that we don’t know about the ship!

All four of us are anxiously waiting for our first time on the ship in 2022!
