Breakfast at Enchanted Garden on the Disney Dream

When we’re at home we normally have something simple for breakfast. The kids normally have cereal, mini muffins, or some days, Christian wants a sandwich. Most days I rotate between a protein shake, a protein bar, or a banana with peanut butter. As you can see, we’re simple breakfast people… except when we’re on vacation! I love a big breakfast at a hotel, or on a cruise ship!  On our most recent trip we decided to make the most of our time on the Disney Dream by trying out a new-to-us breakfast experience that is only available on the bigger ships. The Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy both offer breakfast at Enchanted Garden, normally just one day per cruise. We knew that it would be a while before we’re sailing on one of the bigger ships again, and we love new experiences, especially dining experiences, so we decided to check it out!  **Keep in mind that when cruises begin again things will be changed, at least for a little while. This cruise took place in late January/ early February

Homeschool with the Whitakers?!

Image
For those of you that don’t really know us outside of our posts here on the blog, or on the Travel with the Whitakers Facebook or Instagram pages, you might not know that we are a homeschool family! What?! Yes. Christian just started FIRST GRADE! (How are these kids getting to be so old?!) He has been homeschooled since he started pre-school when he turned four. I’m sure you’re thinking – this is a travel blog, what does this have to do with traveling?! Well, one of the main reasons that we decided to homeschool was because we love to travel!  Christian is six years old. Before he was born, we loved to travel just the two of us. After he was born, we loved to travel as a family of three. And now that we have Bella, all four of us love to travel together. When Christian was younger, we started talking about what we would do when he started school. It didn’t take long for us to settle on homeschooling, and then we cemented that decision in when he turned four and was ready to start pre-s

Disney Cruise Line Room Service Lunch

We’ve talked about food a lot lately, but who doesn’t love food?! We definitely love food, especially cruise food! Today we’re here to talk about ordering room service while on a Disney Cruise.  We’ve ordered room service before, but it is normally just cookies and milk, or cake of the day, or a Mickey ice cream bar. We definitely recommend ordering each of those at least once! Today, though, we’re going to talk about the lunch that we ordered from room service on the last sea day of our last cruise!  Before we get to that, though, let’s talk a little about Disney Cruise Line’s room service.  When is it available? Room service can be ordered beginning at 1:30PM on embarkation day, this is when staterooms are first ready. After that it can be ordered 24 hours a day until 1:00AM on the last night of your cruise. Once you place your call it normally takes about 30 minutes for your order to arrive. How do I order? The room service menu can be found in the large book on the stateroom desk.

Sit-Down Breakfast at Triton's on the Disney Wonder

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day! We’ve all heard this, probably from our mothers, grandmothers, and TV. Food is important, especially on a cruise because it keeps us going through our busy, or relaxing, days while on and off the ship! And if you know us, you know that we all love food!  We normally like to start the day with a quick and casual breakfast at Cabanas, something from Daisy’s De Lites (on the Wonder and Magic), or a combination of the two. We have done sit-down breakfast twice before in the past, a character breakfast and one breakfast at Triton’s on our very first cruise. It was an okay experience, but it just wasn’t for us. We like to get our food, eat, and get started with all that we have planned for the day! On our last day on the Disney Wonder on our last sailing, a sea day, Christian decided that he wanted to have sit-down breakfast. We didn’t have much planned for the day, so we all got ready and headed to Triton’s. It was a much better experience th
