Our Favorite Walt Disney World Resorts

The Walt Disney World Resort has so many options when it comes to places to stay! With three resort levels, and each resort with a unique theme all its own, there is something for everyone! We’ve talked about each of the resort levels before, but today were here to talk about our favorite resorts to stay at and to visit!

Stay
All-Star Resorts - We’ve stayed at All-Star Music twice, All-Star Movies twice, and All-Star Sports once. I personally have another stay at All-Star Sports booked for next year as well. We love that these three resorts offer larger than life theming, great food at the food courts, fun pools, a jogging path the runs in front of all three resorts, and the price point. We also love that All/Star Music offers family suites that sleep up to 6 for less than the cost of a family suite at Art of Animation. While some guests don’t like that the three resorts share buses during non-peak hours during the day it doesn’t bother us at all. After all, three resorts are right next to each other.

Pop Century - We stayed at Pop Century on our most recent trip, and we have a couple of nights booked here for our upcoming trip as well. Pop Century, like the All-Star Resorts, is a Value Resort. It is priced slightly above the All-Stars in most instances, though. During our stay here we enjoyed the newly refurbished rooms, Everything Pop Shopping and Dining, the jogging path around Hourglasses Lake that takes you on a tour of Pop and Art of Animation resorts. We also enjoyed seeing the larger than life icons for each decade around the resort, finding our birth years in the shadow boxes in the lobby and on the path outside, and the themed pools. We really enjoyed our stay here last time and are looking forward to our upcoming two night stay.

Fort Wilderness - I’ve only stayed here once, but it was during my first trip to Disney World and I loved it. The resort has a rustic feel to it, but it is beautiful. The resort has a whole has so much to offer from camp grounds to cabins, dining options including The Hoop Dee Doo Revue, boat transportation to Magic Kingdom, and more! It’s in our list for places to stay again!

Port Orleans Riverside - Port Orleans Riverside is a beautiful resort. We enjoyed the New Orleans theme, the food, how quite the resort was, and having the chance to relax! We’ve only stayed once so far, but we loved it, and plan to stay at POR again in the future!

Visit
When we visit the Walt Disney World resort we don’t just see the resort that we’re staying at! Each time we try to visit at least one other resort, for a dining reservation, and sometimes just to look around. These are the three resorts that we love to go back to again and again.

Art of Animation - This resort has amazing, detailed theming that is so much fun to see again and again! All of the little details - from character statues to signs and art work - immerse guests in the worlds of Cars, Finding Nemo, Lion King, and Little Mermaid. It’s a beautiful resort during the day, but it is also amazing to see before the sun comes up as well! I enjoyed walking through the resort and taking it all in after running in the mornings on our last trip when we stayed right across the lake at Pop Century.

Animal Kingdom Lodge - Just a short trip from Animal Kingdom Park, Animal Kingdom Lodge is worth a stop! Amazing dining options (we’ve tried and loved Sanaa and The Mara), stunning design and decor, and of course the chance to look out on the savannas!

Wilderness Lodge - This resort makes you feel as if you’re at a lodge at a National Park. It has the feel of a deluxe resort, but it also feel rustic! The resort is beautiful, offers amazing food (we love Whispering Canyon), the geyser is so much fun to see, and it offers boat transportation to Magic Kingdom. We love to visit Wilderness Lodge and it’s on our list to stay at some time in the future!
