The Disney Fantasy's Enchanted Garden Dinner Review

Last week talked about our amazing road trip from Texas to Pennsylvania and back again at the beginning of the month! Now we’re back to Disney and today we have a review of Enchanted Garden.

We talked a little bit about Enchanted Garden in our Star Wars Day at Sea post. Located on deck 2, Enchanted Garden is the third main dining room onboard the Disney Fantasy.

Here enchanted flowers hang from the ceiling and bloom over the course of your meal. The walls of the dining room feature paintings of walking paths through European gardens. The lights along the paths begin to turn on throughout your meal as well. The lit up ceiling also makes it feel as though you are dining under the stars. My favorite part of the restaurant, besides the food, is the stone path that leads to the fountain in the middle of the entryway that features Mickey!

Speaking of food, let’s talk about the delicious meal we enjoyed here on the second and fifth nights of our sailing.

On both nights in Enchanted Garden the bread service was Multi Grain Country Currant Rolls with Chickpea-Garlic Puree. This is one of my favorite breads on the ship because of the hint of sweetness from the currants. The chickpea-garlic puree, or hummus, is exactly that. I’m personally not a chickpea fan, so I eat the currant rolls with butter.

On the first evening we ordered two appetizers, the North Atlantic Lobster Ravioli and the Ahi Tuna and Avocado Tower. Two large ravioli stuffed with sweet lobster filling is served with tomato broth, sweet basil, roasted garlic, and chunks of lobster. If you’re a fan of lobster, ravioli, or both, you’ll enjoy this dish. The Tuna and Avocado Tower is perfect for those who love tuna! Ahi tuna tartare is layered with creamy avocado, topped with crispy noodles and served with wasabi dressing.

We each ordered an entrée. The Pan Seared Sea Bass and the Slow Roasted Prime Rib. The seabass was tender and flaky and served over creamy fava bean and pea risotto, ad with crispy slices of fennel, and a dill-chive Riesling wind sauce. The dish is beautiful and everything pairs really well together. The prime rib is juicy, tender, and full of beefy flavor. It is served with thyme-roasted vegetables, a creamy, and cheesy twice baked potato – this is one of my favorite ways to each potatoes – and a pan jus. If you like horseradish is also offered – I opted for the horseradish. If you’re a carnivore like me you won’t be disappointed with this dish. The portion is huge and everything is delicious.

Christian ordered the Kid’s Corn Dog with fries – a standard corn dog, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with that! Corn dogs are perfect the way they are!  Since it was the second night of the cruise we still weren’t sure how much Bella was going to be eating, so we ordered her just the Kid’s Burger Patty. A standard burger patty, but that’s what you want when you order a burger, right?!

We finished our meal with the Chocolate Brownie Sundae and the Orange Yogurt Cake. If you’re a chocolate lover (me!) you’ll love the Chocolate Brownie Sundae. Rich chocolate ice cream and peanut butter brownie bites are topped, as every sundae should be, with chocolate fudge sauce and whipped cream. We love chocolate, we love peanut butter, and we especially love the two together. This is a truly satisfying sundae. We also really enjoyed the citrusy Orange Yogurt Cake. The cake is soaked in a sweet citrus syrup and served with a vanilla sauce, a slice of orange and a raspberry. It’s a satisfying, sweet, yet still light dessert.

On our second evening in Enchanted Garden we enjoyed two appetizers: The Enchanted Garden Platter and Garlic and Parsley Sautéed Shrimp. The Enchanted Garden Platter is a charcuterie platter, much like the one at Tiana’s Place on the Disney Wonder. The platter includes meats (salami and prosciutto), artichokes, a small baguette, and peach marmalade. Everything on the platter is delicious, and the best thing about it is that it all pairs so well together that you can mix and match each bite. The Garlic and Parsley shrimp is tender and flavorful and is served over jambalaya rice – yum!

Four our main course we ordered the Trio of Veal and the Oven-Roasted Turkey Breast. The grilled veal tenderloin and pulled veal shank are tender and flavorful. The best part of this dish, though, is the tortellacci pasta. Like big ravioli, stuffed with veal – yum! The dish is served with a deep, flavorful sun-dried tomato sage reduction, and garnished with a potato crisp. One of my favorite meals on a Disney ship or on land is oven-roasted turkey breast. It just makes it feel like Thanksgiving, even if it’s only for a little while. Three slices of juicy, tender roasted turkey breast are served over warm rosemary stuffing, mashed sweet potatoes, and green beans. I’m not a big sweet potato fan, but they go well with the turkey and gravy. Speaking of gravy, the turkey is drizzled with a rich giblet gravy – yum! One of my favorite parts of the dish, though, is the cranberry relish that is served on the side. I said yes, please when our server asked if I would like cranberry relish – the best part is you can have as much as you like! Pairing bites of turkey with bites of potatoes or stuffing, and dipping it all in the cranberry relish is my favorite way to eat this dish.

The kids ordered Penne Pasta and opted for no sauce – my kids are weird. Christian requested an apple as his side dish and asked the first person that came to our table (which happened to be our head server) if he could have peanut butter to dip his apple slices in. A few moments later the cup of peanut butter from Cabanas (which can only be found at breakfast) arrived.

We finished our meal with White Chocolate Bread Pudding and Crème Brulee Cheesecake. If you’ve read our posts before you know that we LOVE bread pudding, and the white chocolate version at Enchanted Garden did not disappoint. Warm bread pudding with white chocolate, a decadent praline sauce, and vanilla ice cream on top. We love the warm dessert/ cold ice cream combination. I’d order this dish again and again. The crème burlee cheesecake was a rich, creamy slice of vanilla cheesecake topped as a crème burlee would be with a layer of torched sugar that cracks nicely when a spoon is put through it. The dish is raspberries and a raspberry coulis.

Overall we really enjoyed our time and our food in Enchanted Garden. We’re looking forward to dining there on the Dream in January/February, and can’t wait to be back on the Fantasy again someday, too! We highly recommend that you enjoy a meal at Enchanted Garden at least once during your cruise!
