A Lunch Fit for a Toy at Woody's Lunch Box
Two
weeks ago we told you all about the amazingly fun and detailed new Toy Story
Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The entire land is full of larger than life
toys and characters from the movies – if you’re a Toy Story fan you definitely
need to stop in for play time on your next trip! When you need to recharge your
batteries before getting back to play time for moving onto a different part of
the park stop by Woody’s Lunch Box for eats and treats that will satisfy even
Space Ranger sized appetites.
Atmosphere
Toy
Story Land was built to look as though Andy had been called inside for some
reason and left his toys, including rides that he had built for the toys,
outside. Woody’s Lunch Box is just like this as well! Remember, in this land
you are a toy as well which means that everything is larger than life. That
includes the giant lunch box walk up window, complete with Thermos, carrot and
celery sticks, cheese, and sandwich cookies.
All
of Woody’s Lunch Box is outside. As a counter service restaurant there is a
walk up window for ordering and an outdoor seating area with umbrellas for some
shade. Most of the tables and chairs are pretty standard, but if you’re lucky
you may end up with a seat that looks like Babybel cheese and a table with note
from Andy’s Mom!
You
can also get napkins, plastic-ware, ketchup, mayo, and mustard from a stand that
looks like it is made from dominoes.
Food
So,
what is there to eat in Andy’s backyard? Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are
served here with some delicious eats at each meal.
The
breakfast menu features S’mores French Toast, a Smoked Turkey Breakfast
Sandwich, a Breakfast Bowl, a Banana Split Yogurt Parfait, and Lunch Box Tarts.
It all sounds amazing!
We
stopped by to refuel at lunch time, though, where the menu is focused on
sandwiches. You can also enjoy Totchos at lunch! The Lunch Box Tarts are
available throughout the day, so don’t miss out on these!
Throughout
the day guests can also enjoy Mystic Portal Punch (Mountain Berry Blast
PowerAde with Lemon-Lime and Tangerine) or a Root Beer Float.
During
our stop at Woody’s Lunch Box we enjoyed the BBQ Brisket Melt and the Grilled
Three-Cheese Sandwich. Both sandwiches were served on buttery, grilled, crispy
bread.
The
BBQ Brisket Melt features a generous portion of flavorful smoked brisket,
barbecue sauce, pickles, and gooey, melty Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheese sandwiched
between two slices of sourdough bread. The sourdough is the perfect bread for
this sandwich!
The
Grilled-Three Cheese sandwich is a gooey, melty combination of Cheddar Cream
Cheese, Provolone, and Cheddar cheeses on garlic butter artisan French bread.
If you like grilled cheese you’ll like this.
Christian
got the Kid’s Grilled Cheese. It is half of the Grilled-Three Cheese sandwich.
We liked it. Christian is picky about his sandwiches and said that it was good,
but the bread was a little too crunch for his liking. Kid’s menu items come
with your choice of two sides and a beverage.
Sandwiches
are served with your choice of Tomato-Basil Soup, Vegetable Macaroni Salad, Mandarin
Orange, Potato Barrels, or Babybel Cheese.
We
tried the Potato Barrels which were what you expect in a tater tot, crispy potato-y
goodness. We also tried the Vegetable Macaroni Salad which was a combination of
macaroni noodles, red peppers, cucumbers, and red onions with a tangy dressing.
We
ended out meal with both flavors of Lunch Box Tart. These are exactly what they
sound like, homemade, better versions of those toaster pastries we all know and
love. The actual pastry is tender and flaky and is filled and topped with
yumminess. The Chocolate-Hazelnut Lunch Box Tart is filled with
chocolate-hazelnut and topped with maple fondant and bits of candied bacon. The
Raspberry Lunch Box Tart is filled with raspberry marmalade and topped with
strawberry fondant and crispy candy pearls. We normally don’t like fondant, but
the stuff on these delicious pastries is pretty delicious. The combination of
the flaky pastry crust, sweet fillings, and crispy toppings made for a
delicious after lunch treat.
We
really enjoyed our time in Toy Story Land and out stop at Woody’s Lunch Box to
refuel. Everything we tried was delicious, but if we had to pick our favorite
it would be the lunch box tarts. Just writing about them is making me hungry! We
highly recommend Woody’s Lunch Box, just keep in mind that seating is limited
during peak meal times. We also recommend that you take advantage of the Mobile
Order option if you do plan on eating during a peak meal time and technology is
your friend.
