Disney's Magical Express - All of Your Questions Answered
Start
your Walt Disney World vacation in the most magical way possible – abroad
Disney’s Magical Express! Today we’re going to answer all of your questions
about Magical Express.
What
is Magical Express?
Disney’s
Magical Express is a FREE motorcoach transportation option from the Orlando
International Airport to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel at the start of
your trip and return service to the Orlando Airport at the end of your trip.
You
don’t have to worry about your luggage!
A
few weeks before your trip you’ll receive yellow luggage tags in the mail.
These tags have your resort, confirmation number, and the name of the lead
guest on the reservation. On the day of your trip be sure to place these tags
on your checked bags before checking them at your departure airport. Once you
get to Orlando there’s no need to go to baggage claim, just head to the Magical
Express check in area and later on your tagged bags will meet you in your
resort hotel room.
What
if I don’t receive luggage tags?
If
you do not receive luggage tags you can still take advantage of the luggage
service. When you check your bags at your departure airport you will be given a
baggage claim sticker that matches with the tag the airline places on your bag.
When you arrive in Orlando give this sticker to the Magical Express check-in
Cast Member and your bags will arrive in your room later on!
Is
this service always available?
Luggage
delivery is available for those arriving in Orlando on flights between 5:00am
and 10:00pm. If you arrive outside of these hours you will need to retrieve
your checked bags from baggage claim and bring them to the Magical Express.
What
if my flight changes?
Even
though Magical Express is booked with flight numbers and time information
attached to the reservation yours bags, as long as they have the yellow tags
attached, will still be retrieved and make it to your resort if you miss your
flight or your flight is delayed.
Does
my child need a carseat?
No!
Carseats will be stored under the bus with larger bags. Unless you plan to take
a taxi or Uber or something, or rent a car while in Orlando we find it easiest
to leave our carseats at home and enjoy the trip!
The
Whole Magical Express Experience…
When
you book your Walt Disney World vacation, or once you book flights, reserve
Disney’s Magical Express service. (Or have your travel agent do it for you!)
A
few weeks before your trip you will receive luggage tags. Attach these tags to
your checked bags on the day of your trip before checking them at the airport.
Once
you arrive in Orlando make your way to the ground floor and follow the signs
for Disney’s Magical Express. Here you will check in by scanning your Magicband
and be directed to the right bus. Keep in mind that each bus normally service
two-to-three resorts. If you would like to retrieve your checked bags from
baggage claim before heading to the bus you may do so, these will be placed
under the bus.
After
having your reservation information checked board the bus and pick a seat!
There is a small amount of overhead space and space at your head for any
carry-on bags. On the way to your resort you’ll view a video about Magical
Express followed by one that will put you in the mood for your vacation – it’s
all about Disney World! After that you’ll also get to see some classic Mickey
cartoons.
It
takes about 30 minutes to get to the Disney World Resort, but keep in mind that
if you are not the first resort to drop off it may take a little longer.
Once
you arrive at your resort you’re home! Enjoy your trip! If you placed the
luggage tags on your bags, or gave the Magical Express check-in a baggage claim
sticker, your bags will meet you in your room later.
On
the last full day of your trip you’ll find an envelope hanging on your door.
Inside is a letter detailing your Magical Express service for the next day. You’ll
be assigned a departure time based on your flight time – it is recommend that
you arrive at the Magical Express stop 15 minutes before this time. Magical
Express departure times are normally around three hours before your flight
time. Keep your letter, you’ll need it to board the bus.
If
you’re going to explore the parks or the Resort before your departure you can
take advantage of Resort Airline Check-In. This allows you to check any bags
you would like to check and to check in with your airline. Once you arrive at
the airport you’ll be able to go straight to security. You can leave any bags
that you plan to carry onto your flight with you at your resort’s bel services.
We
have used Magical Express many times and enjoy the ability to start our
vacation with Disney magic before we even leave the airport in Orlando.
