50's Prime Time Cafe Dinner Review

Step back in time when you step into 50’s Prime Time Café at Hollywood Studios.

50’s Prime Time Café is located in the Echo Lake section of Hollywood Studios, between Hollywood and Vine Restaurant and the Indiana Jones Outpost. When you step inside you’re transported back to the 1950s. Period décor, a TV at some tables playing videos from the time period, and a wait-staff that treat you like family await you!

After you check in take a seat on one of the couches while you wait for your table. Once your table is ready you’ll be called for by your cousin – after all everyone is family here. We’ve eaten here on quite a few of our trips and have always had a great experience. This past trip was no different for the “Whitaker kids,” and the food that game from mom’s kitchen was delicious. As the other three locations that we dined at on this last trip were, the staff at 50s was amazing with the allergy restrictions that our party had.

Once you’re seated be sure to set the table, keep your elbows off the table, and eat all of your vegetables.

During our most recent trip we enjoyed two different dishes from the menu as well as one that was specially made to meet Sharon’s allergy needs.

We’ll start with Sharon’s. The kitchen staff was so amazing, the head and assistant chefs went out of their way to make sure that she would have something to eat. The pork chops that are on the menu are brined and stuffed – these wouldn’t work. So, they found fresh pork that hadn’t yet been brined and cut two massive pork chops for her to enjoy. The huge pork chops were simply seasoned and came to the table golden brown on the outside and cooked perfected on the inside. They were served with broccoli and fingerling potatoes. To ensure that she had enough to eat the chef also brought out a bowl of fresh blueberries dusted with sugar for dessert.

Two of us enjoyed Cousin Megan’s Traditional Meatloaf. Two slices of pork and beef meatloaf topped with a tangy tomato glaze. It is served with gravy topped garlic mashed potatoes – yum, and buttery green, garlic beans and carrots.

Lastly, Christian had the Kid’s Aunt Betty’s Chicken Nuggets. Crispy chicken nuggets served with French fries and corn. It’s a satisfying meal for any kid that loves nuggets and fries! Kid’s meals also come with a dessert included! On this evening Christian enjoyed a scoop of vanilla ice cream with sprinkles.

This experience, and all of the ones that we have had at 50’s have been filling and enjoyable. We highly recommend adding this to your list for your next trip.
