FREE Things at Disney World

A Walt Disney World vacation can certainly be pricey, we know, we’ve taken a lot of them. So, after all that saving, once you’re finally there at the Walt Disney World Resort you want something that you don’t have to spend more money on. Believe it or not there are actually free goodies and experiences at Disney World and today we’re here to tell you about them!

Magical Express – Disney’s Magical Express is a motorcoach service that will take you from the Orlando airport to your resort, and at the end of your stay from your resort to the airport all for FREE! You also don’t have to worry about your bags when you arrive in Orlando. Just put the yellow luggage tags on your bags before you check them at your departure airport and they’ll arrive in your resort hotel room later in the day!

Park Maps – Park maps are available the entrance to each park, at some snack carts throughout the parks and in resort hotel lobbies. They’re great for helping you find your way around the park, but also for planning and they make a great keepsake.

Transportation – The Walt Disney World Resort makes it easy to get to the parks, to Disney Springs and to the resort with complimentary transportation. A variety of transportation options are available, it just depends where you are and where you’re trying to get to. Buses, watercraft and the monorail will take you to where you need to be.

Celebration Buttons – No matter what you’re celebrating you can let the World, well Disney World, know with a celebration button. Buttons include Birthday, Anniversary/Honeymoon, First Visit, Family Reunion, and I’m Celebrating which you can have just about anything written on. Buttons are available at check in as well as in each of the parks.

Free Samples – While not guaranteed like some of the other options on the list, you may luck out with a sample of something delicious in one of the shops. We’ve been able to get a sample of a marshmallow wand at Sweet Spells at Hollywood Studios while they were passing them out as well as popcorn outside of Sci-Fi Dine In Theater, Chocolate at The Ganachery and to try a flavor of Gelato at Vivoli il Gelato in Disney Springs (just to make sure we like it.)

Water – There are water fountains throughout the parks, but we’re not talking about water fountain water. You can ask for a cup of water, hot or cold, or ice at counter service restaurants.

Toppings – You can get some bang for your buck with extras, essentially free, from the toppings bars at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café and Pecos Bill’s Tall Tale Tavern and Café. Toppings include cheese, sour cream, salsa, onions, mushrooms, pickles, etc.

Club Cool – Don’t miss your chance to try different Coke products from around the world at Epcot’s Club Cool.

WiFi – That’s right, there is free WiFi within the parks and resorts!

Stickers – Cast Members carry stickers to give out. Not all stickers are the same!

Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom – Sing up for this free game that will take you around Magic Kingdom park at the Firehouse on Main Street! Players receive a map spell cards.

Kidcot Crafts – Kids can color and learn at the same time with Kidcot crafts found at Kidcot stations around Epcot. Each country around World Showcase has one of these stations and a Cast Member from that country is there – ask them to write something in their native language for you!

Campfires – Many of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels offer campfires including Chip ‘N’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long at Fort Wilderness Resort!

Movies – Enjoy movies under the stars by the pool at your Walt Disney World Resort hotel!

Animals – Animal Kingdom Lodge offers the chance to see animals without needing a park ticket! The resort has two savanna areas and a variety of animals.
Disney Springs – The shopping district at Disney World offers free parking and doesn’t require admission. That however, is where the free-ness of this one ends. That is, unless you’re able to avoid the temptation of the dozens of stores and restaurants.

Pixie Dust – Stop by the Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street for a sprinkle of glitter—er Pixie Dust.

Wilderness Explorers – Receive a Wilderness Explorers booklet when you sign up for the fun, around the park activity. Activities are located through the park and offer fun learning experiences for the whole family. If you finish all the activities you also receive a Senior Wilderness Explorer sticker.

Photos – Disney’s PhotoPass Photographers are happy to take photos with their cameras, but also with yours!
