Sea Days Aboard the Disney Wonder
Sea days give you a great opportunity to explore all that
the ship has to offer and to relax. Our 7 night Alaska cruise had three sea
days, the second of which however will have a post all to itself.
Upon boarding the ship on day one we got tickets to the character breakfast and two character meet and greets. We know that a character breakfast took place on more than one day, however each stateroom is allowed one such meal, and a ticket is required. Since we got our tickets directly after boarding our breakfast took place on the morning of day two.
So, after a morning trip to the gym and running while looking out at the ocean it was time to get ready for our character breakfast. We'll have a whole post dedicated to this meal later, but for now we'll say that it involved everyone's favorite mouse and Animator's Palate.
At this point everything is available, so feel free to explore everywhere. The
gym opens early for those that want to work out before breakfast. The kids
clubs are open for fun. The shops open in the late morning for souvenir
searching. The pools are open and movies are showing on Funnel Vision. And
there's a whole big ship to Wonder around. (Yes, I'm aware that is not the
correct word - the correct spelling should indeed be wander, but the name of
the ship is the Wonder after all.)
On out first sea day we explored for a while before heading back to our 0\;.
m0,001451listateroom so that a sleepy toddler could nap. This nap overlapped the time that
we were allotted for meeting the Princesses, so sadly we will not be writing
about that. This nap did, however, allow us to order room service for lunch.
Delicious.
Soon it was time to get ready for dinner, and this night happened to be formal night. It was actually fun to get dressed up.
Following dinner a show was available for those that wished to make their way to the Walt Disney Theater. The end of this first sea day is so where you will turn your clocks and phones back an hour - welcome to Alaska time!
The sea day on day 7, the last full day if the cruise allows for more exploring and more relaxation. We recommend taking advantage of the chance to relax after three days ashore and before returning back to reality.
We mentioned that there are three sea days on the Alaska cruise and the second brings you through Tracy Arm, Alaska, and this gorgeous stretch of a nature deserved its own post - we'll bring you this post next.
