Carousel of Progress - Attraction Overview

Disney World if full of amazing things to see, do, and of course eat. Today though, we’re going to talk about one of my absolute favorite attractions, Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress.

The Carousel of Progress can be found directly across from Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin in Tomorrowland. The first time we entered this attraction we had no idea what was in store for us, but now it is a must do every trip.

Once you enter and find a seat, sit back, relax, enjoy some air conditioning and journey through the 20th Century. This attraction, which was designed by Walt Disney himself for the 1964-65 World’s Fair, transports you through four different decades of the 20th Century.

The entire theater consists of five rooms, including the one in which you start, and the seating area moves through the circular building. No need to worry about moving at all, so enjoy the show and the shade during your 21 minute journey.

Throughout the show learn about the advances in technology that were made and were supposed to be made in the future. My favorite part of the entire attraction is the song that the main character sings as you move from room to room. “There’s a great big beautiful tomorrow…”

If you’re like us and enjoy finding Hidden Mickeys and other “Easter eggs” you’ll enjoy Carousel of Progress just for them. There are at least 6 Hidden Mickeys, a cat in all four rooms, and there is also a very famous hat.

You can enjoy Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress any time of day, there is almost never a wait since the show is constantly going.
