Sit-Down Lunch at Triton's on the Disney Wonder

We love having dinner in the main dining rooms when we’re on a Disney Cruise. However, we normally enjoy our lunch from either Cabanas, the quick service locations by the pool, or a combination of the two. On our last cruise we decided to enjoy lunch from Triton’s. On past cruises we’ve given a sit-down lunch some thought, but always decided against it for one reason or another. This time we decided to do it, and we’re glad that we did!  Months before the cruise, when we were able to do online check-in, we booked times for Bella to spend time in the nursery. The first of these was so that we could enjoy dinner at Palo on night two of the cruise. The second we booked for sea day 2, but we weren’t sure what we would do at the time. Sea day 2 finally arrived, and we decided that after getting the kids some lunch and dropping them off at the Oceaneer Club and It’s a Small World Nursery, we would enjoy a slower, quieter dining experience for our lunch.  Each day Triton’s is open for a sit-d

Our Favorite Sea Day Activities

We love cruising. We’re sure that we’ve made that pretty obvious in our past posts, and if you’ve spoken to us before in person you know that we love to talk about cruises that we have taken and that we have planned for the future whenever we get the chance! With that said, we love cruises of any length, but we really prefer cruises that are at least seven nights. We love visiting new ports, or experiencing new things in ports that we have stopped in before. The best part of longer cruises, though? Spending days at sea! We’re sure your wondering, is there really enough to keep you from being bored with two, three, or even eight sea days? The answer is, YES! Even the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder, which are smaller than the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy have so much to offer for guests to do while on board for full days at sea! The two smaller ships are the ones that generally do longer sailings, too! The Magic crosses from North America to Europe and then back again each year, and t

Sailing from New Orleans

In early February 2020 we sailed on the first Disney Cruise Lines sailing from the Port of New Orleans on the Disney Wonder. We were excited to be on another cruise, especially one that we had booked on opening day 18 months before and had counted down the days for! We were also all really excited to be back on the beautiful Disney Wonder, which is my favorite of the four Disney Cruise Line ships.  We have taken eight cruises with Disney, except Bella who has taken three, and have now sailed from four different departure ports. We talked about our favorite port to sail from a few weeks ago, and we talked a little about sailing from New Orleans there. Today, though, our post is just about sailing from New Orleans and we’ll go into more detail than in that comparison post. So, let’s talk about sailing from the Port of New Orleans with Disney Cruise Line!  Arriving We arrived at the port just before 10am. We drove our own vehicle, so our first stop was the parking garage to park the car.

Date Night at Palo on the Disney Wonder

What is Palo? Palo is an upscale Italian dining experience that is available for an extra cost on all four Disney Cruise Line ships. Brunch (on select days) and dinner are served here for guests 18 and older with a reservation.  How much does it cost? As of writing (May 2020) the cost for brunch and dinner is $40 per person. There is a wine pairing options available for dinner that is an additional $59 per person.  Is there a dress code? Yes. While the main dining rooms onboard have a dress code that does not allow swimwear or tank tops, the dress code at Palo is a bit stricter. It allows guests to dress up a bit, and to enjoy a date night or a date for a late morning or early afternoon brunch. Here is the dress code directly from the Disney Cruise Line site:  “To preserve the elegant ambiance of this restaurant, you are asked to adhere to a dress code when dining at Palo. We recommend dress pants or slacks and a collared shirt for men, and a dress, skirt or pants and a blouse for wome

8 Reasons We Sail With Disney Cruise Line

There are so many cruise lines out there to choose from. Each one has something unique to offer. So, we’re sure you’re wondering, why do we keep going back to Disney? Today we’re here to tell you the 8 Reasons Why We Sail With Disney Cruise Line! 1. The Magic of Disney – If you’ve ever walked into a Disney Park, or onto a Disney Cruise Line ship, you know that Disney has something special about it. There is a buzz in the air, it brings a smile to your face, and a happiness to your whole being. At least, that’s how it is for me. Every time I walked into one of the Disney Parks, or step onto a Disney Cruise Line ship, I feel like I’m home. There really is just something special about being on Disney property. This feeling, this sense of happiness and being home, is one of the reasons why we sail with Disney! 2. Level of Service – Disney goes above and beyond to make sure that their guests are happy, and this does not stop when you leave dry land. The cast and crew of the Disney Cruis
