Planning a Solo Trip!

When this posts we’ll be in the middle of a trip, but we’re always planning, and we’re always got another trip coming up! Our next trip, though, won’t be our trip, but my trip! I’ve got a solo trip to Disney World coming up in a few months and planning for it is a lot different than planning for trips that we’ve taken in the past.

We’ve taken trips where it has just been Howard and I before the kids were born. We’ve taken many trips with the kids. We’ve taken trips that involved extended family and friends. This, though, will be my first trip by myself, and I’m looking forward to it! So, how is planning a solo trip different than planning a family trip, or even a couple’s trip?

Stay Where You Want to Stay! With so many onsite options at the Walt Disney World Resort I opted to go with one of my favorites, All-Star Sports. We love the Value Resorts for a couple of reasons – theme and cost! We love all three of the All-Star Resorts, and we love Pop Century, but because I won’t be spending much time at the resort, I went with the cheapest option for my travel dates. And I loved my time at All-Star Sports in 2017.

Eat Where You Want to Eat! Normally when we start planning a Disney World trip we talk as a family about where everyone wants to eat and make sure that we go to at least one place that everyone wanted. This time when I was planning for my dining reservations, I got to pick all of the places that I wanted to eat at!

Ride What You to Want to Ride! I’ve got just over a month until I can make my Fastpass+ reservations and I keep thinking about all of the rides that I want to go on. Normally when we’re planning for our Fastpasses we get one for one ride that we (Howard and I) really want to do and then use our two others for something that Christian really wants to ride. This trip it will be all about the rides that I want to have a shorter wait time for.

Do What You Want to Do! I’m looking forward to being able to get up in the morning to go for a run before I head to the parks. Although, I do that on family trips, too! I’m looking forward to getting to the parks when I want, riding what I want, when I want, grabbing a snack and not having to share whenever I want, and having a great trip. After my trip in May I’ll tell you all about my trip and write about how it was different than traveling with others.

Have you taken a solo trip? What was your favorite part?
