Planning a Solo Trip!

When this posts we’ll be in the middle of a trip, but we’re always planning, and we’re always got another trip coming up! Our next trip, though, won’t be our trip, but my trip! I’ve got a solo trip to Disney World coming up in a few months and planning for it is a lot different than planning for trips that we’ve taken in the past. We’ve taken trips where it has just been Howard and I before the kids were born. We’ve taken many trips with the kids. We’ve taken trips that involved extended family and friends. This, though, will be my first trip by myself, and I’m looking forward to it! So, how is planning a solo trip different than planning a family trip, or even a couple’s trip? Stay Where You Want to Stay! With so many onsite options at the Walt Disney World Resort I opted to go with one of my favorites, All-Star Sports. We love the Value Resorts for a couple of reasons – theme and cost! We love all three of the All-Star Resorts, and we love Pop Century, but because I won’t be spen

Make a Splash on a Disney Cruise!

Our next trip is just a few days away! We’re all really excited to start our road trip, and then to board the Disney Dream just a few days after that! We’ve all been waiting and planning for this trip for months and it’s finally about to be here! One thing that both kids are most looking forward to is playing in the water on both the Disney Dream and the Disney Wonder! So today we’re going to talk about all of the water play options available onboard the four Disney Cruise Line ships.  Each of the four ships has a variety of options for cooling off on a hot day! Keep in mind that you not get to swim laps in any of the pools, they are not very large, but they off a great place to cool off.  Also keep in mind that children that are not potty trained and are in swim diapers may not use the pools. Each of the four ships has a special splash area that’s just for them, though, and each of the splash areas is A LOT of fun!  Disney Magic Goofy’s Pool – This family pool is a great place

Fastpass+ - What is it? What do we Fastpass?

What is a Fastpass?  Fastpasses allow you to bypass the standby line and wait in a shorter line for select attractions. Picture this: You arrive at Magic Kingdom and your little one is finally tall enough to ride Seven Dwarfs Mine Train! You make your way to Fantasyland, but when you arrive at the attraction’s entrance the wait time is already over an hour. With a Fastpass for the ride you’ll simply come back during your designated one-hour window and wait in a much shorter line for the ride!  How does it work? When I took my first trip to Disney World in 2004 Fastpasses were simple – you arrived at the attraction that you wanted to ride and went to the Fastpass machine that was nearby. It would print out a ticket with your return time on it, and you would return later during your window of them to ride the attraction. The was the case when Howard and I took our first trip together in early 2012 as well. At this time, though, only select attractions had Fastpasses, and you could on

A "Tour" of Disney Cruise Line Food

We’ve mentioned in the past that we love sailing with Disney Cruise Line for a lot of reasons. We love the magic of it all, the Disney level of service, traveling to different places while only having to unpack once, spending family time together, and getting to spend some time without the kids while they hang out in the Oceaneer Club and It’s a Small World Nursery. We also love the ability to eat pretty much anything we want whenever we want! There are so many dining options on board, sometimes it’s hard to decided where you want to eat – especially at lunch time! So, where all can you enjoy delicious eats while onboard? Breakfast Breakfast is the most important meal of the day! You’ll need energy for whatever it is that you have planned for your day – whether that’s a day full of activities or just relaxing! There are a variety of options for the breakfast.  Room Service – Simply place the menu card on your door knob the night before you would like to enjoy breakfast in your
