Why We Love Animal Kingdom

The Walt Disney World Resort has SO MUCH to offer - rides, attractions, shows, characters, food, fun themed hotels, four theme parks, two water parks, a shopping district, and unlimited ways to make magical memories. If it isn’t obvious, we’re a Disney family – we love all things Disney. We love taking trips to the Walt Disney World Resort (and the Disneyland Resort and Disney Cruises) and we can’t wait for our short trip this coming winter. Disney World has four theme parks, each with its own unique offerings – rides, shows, attractions, dining and character opportunities, and over the next few weeks we’re going to talk about what we love about each of the four magical parks!

This week we bring you, in no particular order, Why We Love Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park.

Tusker House – Tusker House is tucked away near the Festival of the Lion King in the Africa section of the park. Themed like a safari camp this buffet-style restaurant is fun to look around, and to dine at! Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served here – our favorite is lunch! We like to get an early lunch reservation around 11am so that some breakfast items are still on the buffet along with lunch items. Throughout your meal here you’ll also have the chance to meet friends like Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Goofy, and Donald all in safari gear!

The Boneyard – We love the Boneyard because it gives the kids a chance to run around and burn off some of the energy they got from all of the delicious Disney eats. Located in DinoLand U.S.A. this dinosaur themed play area offers slides, cargo nets, a sand pit, and more. Kids of all ages are welcome to play and learn.

Experiencing Pandora – Christian and I have experienced Pandora twice while Howard and Bella have been there once. Both rides (Flight of Passage and Navi River) are immersive and fun. Flight of Passage is something that everyone should experience at least once. Our favorite part of this land, though, is how you truly feel as though you have been transported to Pandora. The entire land is immersive and beautiful. It is a sight to see during the day, but it is especially beautiful at night.

Kilimanjaro Safaris – Take a safari without leaving Disney World! We love seeing all of the animals roaming around the savannas and learning something new every time we ride. No to rides are exactly alike either!

Dinosaur – This ride is just plain fun. You’ll also find the formulas for come condiments while you’re in line.

Expedition Everest – The queue for this attraction is pretty cool, lots of stuff about the legend of the yeti! The ride is a lot of fun, too!

Kali River Rapids – Kali River Rapids offers the chance to cool down on a hot Florida day, and we love water rides.

Wilderness Explorer’s – Wilderness Explorer’s offers the chance to explore the park and learn all while experiencing rides, attractions, and new cultures.

Animals! – The main reason that we love Animal Kingdom is in the name – the animals! There are so many different animals throughout the park and it is so much fun to see them live their lives. As long as your favorite animal lives in Africa or Asia you’ll find it here!

Learning - The chance to learn, but not feel like you’re learning! Learning while you’re having fun is the best way to learn because you don’t feel like you’re learning.

Flame Tree Barbeque – We love good food, and Flame Tree Barbecue has lots of it! We like to stop by to rest our feet and to get a bite to eat. The ribs, chicken, and pulled pork are our favorites.

The Tree of Life – The Tree of Life towers over the park and it is incredibly. We like to try to find the different animals that are carved into it. The best way to do this is to walk along the beautiful paths that take you right beside it.
