A Look Ahead at What's Coming in 2019!

Another year is coming to an end, but the magic of Disney will only get better as the next year begins. Before we look ahead at the 2019 let’s look at what happened at Disneyland, Disney World and aboard the Disney Cruise Ships in 2018.

2018

California Adventure Park at the Disneyland Resort saw the opening of Pixar Pier this summer. What was Paradise Pier now celebrates all things Pixar. Here you’ll find. Games of Pixar Pier, the Pixar-Pal-Around, Toy Story Mania and the Incredicoaster. You will also find characters like Mike Wizowski, Buzz Lightyear, Woody, and Mr. and Mrs. Incredible in this section of the park.

California Adventure also said goodbye to the Bugs Land section of the park this year in order to begin work for a new Marvel themed section of the park.

Early this year Disney Cruise Line’s original ship, the Disney Magic, was refurbished. The Teen club “Vibe” was redone as well as the Cove Café and parts of the Oceaneer Club. The ship also saw the addition of a new Main Dining restaurant “Rapunzel’s Royal Table” where guests can dine with Rapunzel and the thugs from the Snuggling Duckling.

Disney Springs at the Disney World Resort, and Disneylnd’s Downtown Disney District continued to expand with the openings of new shopping and dining locations.

The highly anticipated Toy Story Land section of Hollywood Studios opened in June. Here guests can experience what it is like to be a toy. Woody’s Lunch Box offers tasty treats, guests can meet with Toy Story favorites such as Woody, Jessie and Buzz, and two new rides, Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers joined the popular Toy Story Mania.

Storybook Dining at Artist Point with Snow White offers a chance to dine with Snow White, Grumpy, Dopey and the Evil Queen at Wilderness Lodge. The menu here includes shared appetizers including Winter Squash Bisque, Hunters Pie, and a choice of entrées like Brothers Grimm Roasted Chicken, Royal Prime Rib Roast and A Stroll Through Nature. The meal ends with shared desserts including Fairy Tale Goose Berry Pie, Poison Apple, and The Hunters Gift to the Queen.

Animal Kingdom’s Rafiki’s Planet Watch also closed its doors this year.

There is a lot to look forward to in 2019 at both of the US parks as well as for Disney Cruise Line.
