Adult-Only Brunch at Palo on the Disney Wonder

Happy Sunday everyone! We hope that you’ve eaten recently, if not this post may just make you hungry.

On our last cruise we got to have some adult time and enjoy an amazing meal all at the same time.

Palo is an adult only dining location available on all four Disney ships. Dinner is offered nightly and brunch is available on sea days on 4-night or longer itineraries. Guests must make a reservation to dine at Palo and the meal does cost extra (but it is so worth it) – brunch and dinner each cost $30 per person.

Brunch is a buffet, but you can also order from the kitchen. This meal is not to be entered into lightly!

Our brunch reservation was for 12:30pm so that morning we enjoyed a light breakfast so that we would have room to really enjoy Palo. We got changed, there is a dress code, dropped Christian off at the nursery and headed upstairs to deck 10.

On the Wonder Palo is located on deck 10 Aft and has amazing views! We arrived shortly before our reservation time and were greeted by the host before being escorted to our table. We were then greet by our server who shortly after brought our complimentary mimosas (one mimosa or glass of Champagne is included in the meal). Then it was time for the buffet. Your server will take you around the buffet to let you know about all of the amazing options. You will also be given a menu so that, should you wish, you can order items from the kitchen.

The Buffet

There are so many choices, we’re talking at least 100 items to choose from! We tried a fair amount of them, too. Items range from fruit and vegetables to seafood, to breads and cheese, to caviar, to pastries and desserts!

Don’t forget about that menu! Don’t miss out on ordering something from the kitchen. We tried three menu items.

The Goat Cheese and Sun-dried Tomato Flatbread – Yum. The crust was crisp, just the way I like it, and the creamy goat cheese gave it a bit of tang while the sun-dried tomatoes added a bit of sweetness. It was a delicious and well balanced dish.

The Eggs Benedict – Your classic eggs benedict done right, the egg was poached perfectly and was still runny when it was cut into.

Parmesan-Crusted Chicken Breast – This is not your ordinary parmesan chicken – there is parmesan in the breading! Cheesy, crunchy, chicken goodness topped with Mozzarella and tomato sauce service with creamy risotto.

Everything that we tried from the buffet was delicious! If we had to pick a few favorites, though, we highly recommend the Arancini, the Grilled Vegetables, the Nutella & Chocolate Chip Muffins, all of the cheese with the exception of the blue cheese, and the Nutella Filled Choux. We had never had caviar before this and we actually enjoyed that, too.

We really enjoyed our time at Palo – everything was amazing, from the food to the service. The staff on Disney’s ships always go above and beyond, but the level of service at Palo is even above that. Our server made sure that we had everything that we needed, and then some. He checked on us at least 10 times during the hour that we were there. Our drinks never came close to being empty. He brought us three different sea salts to try with our food. He asked if we needed or wanted anything else, from the kitchen or from the buffet.

If you somehow leave Palo unhappy or hungry, it is no one’s fault but your own.

We highly recommend dining at Palo and will be doing so again on our next cruise, this time for dinner, though.
