Disney's Alaska Cruise - Day 3: Tracy Arm

Image
The second full sea day is different from the other two days. This is the third day of your cruise and it is also the day that you will turn around and start heading south again. This is the Tracy Arm day!      Tracy Arm is a massive and beautiful glacier. Starting at around noon on the day that you see Tracy Arm you will enter some seriously small sections of water. And on both sides of the ship there will be beautiful scenery to include mountains, small glaciers, and waterfalls. You may also be lucky enough to see some wildlife. On the day that we were there a bear and mountain goats were spotted.        Don't forget to periodically walk from one side of the side to the other - the view is not the same on both sides of the ship. While you are sailing though these narrow stretches of water there will be times where the nature guy on board will be talking over the speakers about all there is to know about Tracy Arm. It is some seriously cool stuff

Sea Days Aboard the Disney Wonder

Sea days give you a great opportunity to explore all that the ship has to offer and to relax. Our 7 night Alaska cruise had three sea days, the second of which however will have a post all to itself.      Upon boarding the ship on day one we got tickets to the character breakfast and two character meet and greets. We know that a character breakfast took place on more than one day, however each stateroom is allowed one such meal, and a ticket is required. Since we got our tickets directly after boarding our breakfast took place on the morning of day two. So, after a morning trip to the gym and running while looking out at the ocean it was time to get ready for our character breakfast. We'll have a whole post dedicated to this meal later, but for now we'll say that it involved everyone's favorite mouse and Animator's Palate.     After breakfast we took to exploring the ship, inside and out. We even met Christian's favorite pirate - Jake. We

We’ve spent the last couple of posts taking a break from talking about Disney Cruise Line and our trip to Alaska – but now we’re back! There’s a lot of information out there about DCL and their cruise to the Caribbean and the Bahamas, but there isn’t much out there about the Alaskan cruise… so over the next few posts we’re going to give an overview of each day aboard the ship. Today we’re going to talk about Embarkation Day! The start of your cruise… Online check-in is available 75 days out and it is highly encouraged that you do it as soon as possible. It takes about 15-20 minutes and involves filling out passenger information. At the end of check-in you will be prompted to print out your forms. You will need to sign these and bring them with you on the day of your cruise – they will make the check-in process go smoothly and quickly. During online check-in you will also choose your check-in time for the cruise terminal. Our check-in time was 11am and we got there at a
