Why THAT Cruise?
Three of the four of us have been on eight Disney Cruises since 2015. Bella has been on three. Each cruise we have taken has had a specific reason behind it! Today we share those reasons with you.
Sailed
Disney Wonder - Alaska - August 2015: We booked our very first cruise for Alaska for two reasons. The reason, we really wanted to see Alaska, and we figured that a cruise would be the best way to experience for the first time. Second, we really wanted to try cruising. Since we really wanted to experience Alaska anyway, and because we were living in California at the time we decided that an Alaska cruise would be perfect for our first one. We couldn't think of a better cruise line to sail with for the first time than Disney, and we're so glad that we made the choice that we did. Disney Magic - Bahamas - February 2016: We booked this one before we had even sailed on the Wonder for the first time! Somehow, we knew that we were going to love cruising. We also we able to get a really good price for a cruise over Howard's birthday, and we couldn't pass it up.
Disney Wonder - Bahamas - November 2016: We moved to Texas in mid-2016, and shortly after moving the Disney Wonder came out of dry dock. The Oceaneer Club was redone, Tiana's Place was added, and so many other things were changed on the ship. We just had to see. Luckily, the Wonder sailed from Galveston that fall, and we experienced all of the new things that the ship had to offer.
Disney Wonder - Bahamas - November 2017: We had such an amazing time on the Wonder in November 2016, that we booked another MerryTime cruise for 2017. We knew that we wouldn't be able to sail for a while afterwards, because I was pregnant with Bella at the time, so we booked back to back cruises!
Disney Wonder - Caribbean - December 2017: As mentioned above, we figured that we would already be in Galveston, and we could make the most of our trip by taking two cruises back to back!
Disney Fantasy - Caribbean - February 2019: This was going to be Bella's first cruise, and we knew we wanted it to be special. We decided to try a new ship, new ports of call, and we decided on a Star Wars Day at Sea cruise!
Disney Dream - Bahamas - January 2020: We actually booked this cruise after we booked the one for February 2020. We wanted to make the most of our trip away from Texas, and we decided to sail on the fourth ship, and for three of us to complete the Grand Slam!
Disney Wonder - Bahamas - February 2020: As soon as Disney announced that they would be sailing from New Orleans for the first time ever, we knew that we had to sail again! We decided to be on the very first sailing from New Orleans to make it even more special, too.
Cancelled
Disney Wonder - Panama Canal - February 2021: We booked this one before we even sailed in early 2020. We love cruises so much, that we really wanted to do a 14-night sailing, and we really wanted to sail through the Panama Canal. Sadly, this cruise was cancelled.
Disney Wonder - Panama Canal - November 2021: After canceling our Panama Cruise for early 2021, we booked the late 2021 sailing. Sadly, even if we had not cancelled on this one, we would not have been able to sail to due restrictions for this cruise.
Upcoming (Booked)
Disney Dream - Bahamas - 2022: We have a sailing on the Disney Dream coming up! We booked this one because it has been two years since we were last on a ship, and this sailing happens to fall over Howard's birthday! As long as all goes well with covid testing, we will be on this ship!
Disney Wish - Bahamas - 2022: When booking for the Disney Wish opened, we were booking our spot to check it out! We will be sailing a few months after the Wish first sets sail for two reason - lower cost, and time for the kinks to be worked out for a new ship.
Disney Fantasy - Caribbean - 2022: Just like in 2017 and 2020, we want to make the most out of our trip, so we will be sailing on the Fantasy right after the Wish!
