Why You Should Go To Disney Right NOW!
As you know, I took a solo trip to Disney World back in October. I really enjoyed being back in the magic, getting away from the daily grind for a few days, and experiencing the parks with lower crowds. There are a lot of Disney lovers out there that don’t know if a trip Disney is worth it right now, because it’s not the same as it was before. If you’re not sure about a trip for that reason, and not for health concerns, let me tell you why now is the PERFECT TIME for a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort.
Lower Crowd Levels – To allow for physical distancing, the number of guests allowed into the parks at any point is capped off at 35% of the park’s capacity. There are times when the park might still be crowded, but nowhere near as crowded as they could be if they were allowed to see 100% capacity. Crowd levels vary from day to day, and from park to park, but it is now possible to see and do much more than before! During my trip in October, I was able to ride every attraction at Animal Kingdom and still have time to go back to my resort for a swim and leisurely evening. I was able to ride everything at Hollywood Studios, except Rise of the Resistance, and head back to Pop Century to just hang out and enjoy a walk around Hourglass Lake at around 5pm. On my Epcot Day I was able to ride every attraction, and enjoy treats from the Food and Wine Festival – keep in mind that Epcot opens later in the day than the other parks. If you don’t like crowds, now is the time to go!
Things You’re Never Seen Before – Sure, there aren’t
fireworks, parades, or character meet and greets like there were before.
However, this not only allows you to spend more experiencing the parks
themselves! You’ll have the chance to ride more rides and take in more details
around the parks. There is also the opportunity to see characters throughout
all four parks! Each of the four theme parks has Character Cavalcades multiple
times throughout the day. During my trip I was lucky enough to see all of the current
(at the time) cavalcades just by walking from one attraction to another, or by
sitting in the right spot to enjoy my lunch or a snack. In addition to the
cavalcades, which are essentially unannounced short parades, there are chances
to see characters randomly throughout each park. At Hollywood Studios I saw Star
Wars characters, including Rey, Chewie, and Kylo Ren on the “stage” areas. At
Epcot I saw Joy and Alice, but there is also the opportunity to see Pooh. At
Magic Kingdom I saw Buzz Lightyear in Tomorrowland. Things aren’t the same as they
were before COVID, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
Safety Standards – In order to stay open, Disney has
high safety and cleanliness standards for the parks, hotels, and transportation.
During my trip I felt totally safe. There are sinks for washing your hands, as
well as hand sanitizer dispensers throughout the parks. Everyone is required to
wear a mask any time they are outside of their resort hotel room – except when
stationary to eat or drink, or when at the pool. Disney is working hard to keep
guests and cast members safe and healthy.
Things Might Never Be as Before – The world is changing
a little bit each day, and the phrase “new normal” seems to be used a lot.
While things will eventually start to go back to the way they were before, it
will take a long time. And some things may never be the same as they were before.
There’s no time like the present!
Experience Your Disney World Resort Hotel – With lower
crowd levels, and therefore shorter wait times for most attractions, you can get
all of the rides and attractions done that you want to, and still have time to
head back to your resort to enjoy all that it has to offer.
