Disney World's Diamond Horseshoe Dinner Review

On our most recent trip we tried a few new dining locations. One of those locations was The Diamond Horseshoe in Magic Kingdom.

Located in Liberty Square, next to the Liberty Tree Tavern, The Diamond Horseshoe is a table service restaurant that has been serving up hearty, all-you-care-to-enjoy, all American fare for a couple of years now. Stepping inside is like a step back in time. The feel of the restaurant is a bit like being in either Frontierland or at Fort Wilderness. It is a low-key, relaxed restaurant which makes it a great location for a relaxed family meal away from the business of the park just outside the front door.

We arrived for our 4:45pm dinner reservation and were quickly seated. When we dined here the dining room was less than half-full, but don’t let that fool you. The food and the staff were amazing!

As mentioned, it is an all-you-care-to-enjoy establishment, which means that there is a set menu. The menu features all American favorites like barbecue meats, mac and cheese, beans and cornbread!

So, let’s take a look at what we got to enjoy that evening.

Starters:
Salad – A delicious mix of lettuce, red onions, tomatoes, corn, cucumbers, cheese and cornbread croutons served with zesty house-made Chipotle-Ranch.
Cornbread – Big slices of moist, slightly sweet cornbread served with whipped honey butter. Yum!

Main:
Once you’re ready for your main course a platter filled with Barbecue Pulled Pork, Carved Turkey Breast, Smoked Sausage, and Braised Beef is brought to your table. All of the meats were moist and flavorful.

Cowboy Beans, Sautéed Corn and creamy Mac and Cheese are served along with the platter of delicious meat.

This dining experience took place during the magical family trip that included my sister who got some amazing special dietary eats! The Chef at The Diamond Horseshoe was amazing. He really embraced the all-you-care-to-enjoy themed of the restaurant and brought Sharon more food than was enough for two meals! Seriously, we were able to share the leftovers for breakfast the next morning.

She was able to enjoy a Salad of lettuce, onions and corn with oil and vinegar. He also brought out Gluten Free dinner rolls that she didn’t even know existed served with her diary free, soy free butter. Her main course was a HUGE bowl of Rice Noodles with Smoked Sausage, Corn, and Broccoli. I can say from trying it all, that it was delicious.

Dessert:
The majority of us were able to enjoy the Campfire Brownie. A moist, warm brownie topped with toasted marshmallow fluff and graham cracker crumbs.  It tasted like a s’more!

I mentioned that Chef Ron was amazing, right? Well, once Sharon found out that she couldn’t have the dessert that had been talked about for her, because it was going to be marshmallow fluff Chef Ron came up with another option. He walked from Liberty Square to The Crystal Palace on Main Street to get an ingredient to check the ingredients list. It ended up that she couldn’t have that either, but she did walk away with more Enjoy Life Cookies than she knew what to do with.

Overall,
There weren’t a whole lot of people in the dining room while we were there, but we think that it was due to the fact that we were dining semi early. The food and the culinary staff were beyond what we had hoped for and I look forward to dining here again in the future.
