Cars Land at Disney California Adventure

This week we’re going to take a quick break from cruise posts and talk about Disneyland. Man do we miss that place. We went from going every couple of months with annual passes to not knowing when we’re going to get back to California to visit the Mouse at his original house.

We’ve talked about food a lot lately, so today we’ll talk about something that won’t make you hungry… well maybe.

One of Christian’s favorite places to hang out at the Disneyland Resort and one of the most amazingly themed areas at the entire resort is Cars Land! When you step into Cars Land you really do feel as though you have stepped into the Disney Pixar movie – the details are amazing!

It is amazing during the day, but it is most amazing at dusk. With the sun setting and all of the neon turning on it is breathtaking.

If you’re seen Cars you know about Lightning and Mater, you can hang out with them and the other residents of Radiator Springs at their usual haunts.

So what is there to do in Cars Land? There are rides, characters, stores and restaurants – there is also, of course, the amazing theme works and details, be sure really look around and take it all in.

There are three rides:

Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters – Go for a spin with Luigi on this newly redone trackless attraction.

Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree –This is Christian’s favorite thing at Disney California Adventure. Remember when Lightning and Mater went tractor tipping? This ride is reminiscent of that. Step aboard a track and enjoy the ride! It is basically a whip, if you’re familiar with that, type of ride and it is a lot of fun.

Radiator Springs Racers – This is the most popular attraction in Cars Land, and perhaps in all of DCA. The standby wait times as well as the line at park opening for Fastpasses certainly indicate that. Board a car and take a trip through Carburetor County. Hold on tight, the racers in the name of the attraction isn’t just there for fun.

You can also meet three Cars characters – Lightning McQueen, Mater and Red rotate and meet guest throughout the day at the Cozy Cone. There is also a show throughout the day in the middle of the road.

Do you like shopping? You can pick unique Cars souvenirs at Ramone’s House of Body Art and Sarge’s Surplus Hut.

Hungry after all of that exploring? Stop by the Cozy Cone Motel for snacks and drinks in cone form – Chili Cones, Ice Cream Cones, Popcorn in a Cone. You can also get an adorable Dinoco souvenir cup and additional food and drink items. Snacks are also available at Fillmore’s Fill-up. If you’re really hungry and looking for a meal then Flo’s V-8 Café is the place to be!

Cars Land is purely amazing, lots to see, do, buy and eat! As you walk around be sure to take in all of the details and take some photos!
