Animator's Palate - The Disney Magic

Animator’s Palate is located on deck 4 all of the way at the back to this ship. On this cruise it was actually directly under our stateroom and it was our meeting area for the muster drill. (We got to meet there twice thanks to a false alarm.) This main dining restaurant focusing on the animation process, which is a HUGE part of the Disney business. Drawings in different stages, some only barely started and some finished decorate the walls inside and outside of the restaurant. There are also screens on the walls around the dining room that showcase the animation process throughout the meal. Famous scenes from Disney movies start out as line drawings and end up as full color, fully animated scenes by the end of dinner. There is also a special guest *cough* Mickey *cough* that joins the servers when they and the dining room changes from black and white to full color! Lumiere's Aboard the Disney Magic

On the first evening of our Bahamas cruise on the Disney Magic we dined at Lumiere’s. Lumiere’s is one of the first things you see when you board the ship. Its main entrance is located in the main lobby. As you would expect from the name it is themed after Beauty and the Beast and the food has a French inspiration, just like the movie. Inside the restaurant you will find roses everywhere, after all roses are an important part of Belle and the Beast’s story. The back wall of the restaurant also features a mural of the iconic dance in the ballroom. On to the food. As always a bread service was part of dinner. On this particular a Warm French Country Bread with Olive Spread was served. The bread was crusty on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. The spread was very olive-y. The Cream of Mushroom Soup was full of rich mushroom flavor, neither the mushrooms nor the cream were over powering at all and completed each other well. It was a great soup. If you’re n
