Toon Town at Disneyland
Toon town is truly something special. Disneyland Park at the Disneyland
Resort is home to a land, well actually a town full of toon favorites
like Mickey and Minnie Mouse. When New Fantasyland was built at Walt
Disney World it, more specifically the Storybook Circus section took
over where Mickey's Toon Town once stood. Now Disneyland is home to the
only Toon Town at the US parks and it is a real treat.
Toon Town isn't just for the kids either, although it does offer great places for little ones to burn off some of those Disneyland sweets.
The entrance to Toon Town is located between the Toon Town Railroad Station and It's a Small World. As you pass into this land of toons be sure to look at the welcome sign, the details are really fun. You'll also notice that Toon Town will close early, before the rest of the park, because the fireworks for the nighttime spectacular are shot off from directly behind this land.
Now, when you enter into Town turn to the right and you'll find yourself face to face with Roger Rabbit from the movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit. There is a fountain as well as a dark ride dedicated to Roger.
Roger's is one of two rides here in Town, the other the Gadget Go Coaster which is a roller coaster themed around tinkering and building - it is more of a kids coaster in that it is a short ride, but adults can enjoy it too.
Besides the two rides there is so much to see and do around Town. Five and Dime is a great gift shop that is bigger than it appears from the outside. Stop on in for some things you won't find elsewhere.
There are also places to grab a bite to eat - Clarabelle's serves ice cream and you can get a Mickey Pants Sink here, Daisy's Diner offers pizza, and Pluto's Dog House has hot dogs. You can also pick up a snack at Toon Up Treats or a cold drink from Goofy's Freeze.
You can meet characters, like Mickey, Minnie and sometimes Goofy and explore the houses of characters, too! Be sure to stop by Minnie's House, you can meet her here, Mickey's house and Movie Barn, Chip 'n Dale's Tree House, Donald's Boat and Goofy's Playhouse. We really like Goofy's and spent about an hour here each trip.
That's not it, though! When you walk around town look for all of the fun little touches. There's a Mickey fountain, funny street and bathroom signs, and Hidden Mickeys! Be sure to look at the windows and to look for warnings on building - if it says don't touch, you should probably touch it!
Our new favorite thing is the post office, stop inside to check out the mailboxes of your favorite toon characters and check out the big mailbox out front too. You can also get your photo taken at the Fireworks Factory, Horace Horsecollar Gym, or the Dog Pound Jail.
There is so much to see in Toon Town, you have to experience it at least once.
We will be experiencing Toon Town one last time, at least for a while, on our last trip to Disneyland before we leave California in less than two weeks! When will you be visiting Toon Town?
