Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie

One of our favorite things to do at Epcot is eat. We love the rides and the entertainment, but walking through the countries of the World Showcase and sampling a snack or enjoying a meal really makes you feel, if only for a few moments, that you really could be in the UK or France. Speaking of France, if pastries are your thing then you need to make your way to the very back of the France Pavilion to Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie.

To find this bakery walk past the fountain and L’artisian des Glaces and pass under the arches into the store. After you look through the souvenirs continue on to the very back, all you have to do is follow your nose!

There are two sides, each with the same things, so if both lines are open choose the one that is the shortest – that way you can get your treats sooner!

All of the amazing treats are out for all to see along the counter, if there is a line and you aren’t at a point where you can see the treats, don’t worry, there are boards that display the whole menu.

There are so many treats available, and it’s hard to choose just one, or two, but that’s okay – calories don’t count on vacation. All of the desserts and pastries, with the exception of the Macaron Collection, are available for snack credits.

The bakery is one of only two places in World Showcase that are open as long as the park is. World Showcase doesn’t officially open until 11am and most of it is roped off from park opening until that point. Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in the Norway Pavilion is open for breakfast and so is Les Halles! During our last trip we have an early, before park opening, breakfast reservation at The Garden Grill. We were done eating around the time that the park opened and we made our way to Les Halles to grab a treat for later on our way to the International Gateway to walk to Hollywood Studios. You will need to come from the UK side to access the France Pavilion before 11am.

You can get your treats to go and they’ll package them up for you or you can enjoy them in the small seating area just outside of the line.

The Food

If you’re looking for something more substantial than a pastry sandwiches, salads, quiches, soups and cheese plates are available.

The dessert and pastry menus include Napoleons, Crème Brulee, cakes, macarons, croissants, mousses, cookies and so much more!

We have tried three of the many amazing things on the menu here – we would love to try them all, but it will take a few more visits.

Frangipane – If you like almond then you’ll love this! Soft and fluffy puff pastry filled with almond paste. So good.

Baguette – You can get a whole or half baguette, both available for snack credits! If you don’t want to use a snack credit, a whole baguette is only $2.95. Crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. We took ours home with us, yes we took it all of the way back home to California and made Cheesy bread with it.

Beignets – On our last trip we picked up a beignets. Soft and fluffy fried dough topped with powdered sugar. Yum.

Overall

We haven’t been disappointed with anything we’ve tried, and we don’t think that you’ll be disappointed either. So, on our next trip to Epcot be sure to stop into Les Halles and try something for yourself.
