Our Favorite Departure Port

We’re living in a time of unknowns. When will we get to travel again? What will be different when we’re allowed to return to cruise ships, theme parks, beaches, etc.? No one knows the answers to those questions right now, sadly. Right now, all we can do is share about our past experiences and hope that we can at least provide entertainment for the time being. We have sailed from four different departure ports, today we will be comparing three of them. We’ll talk about the layout, the ease of the boarding process, and which we prefer. Port Canaveral  Number of Sailing from this Port: 3 Parking: A parking lot and parking garage is located onsite. The terminal is accessible via a footbridge on level 3 and using the crosswalk to cross on the ground level. Luggage Drop-Off: Luggage with cruise line luggage tags can be dropped off with porters before proceeding to the parking garage, or after you have parked before entering the terminal. Luggage drop off is between the parking garag

What Happens if the Ship Can't Dock at Castaway Cay?

Disney’s Castaway Cay is an island paradise and most Caribbean and Bahamian cruise make a stop at the beautiful island port. There are sometimes, though, when weather makes it impossible for the ship to dock. So, what happens if your cruise can’t dock at Castaway Cay? That’s what we’re here to tell you today. It came to our attention on our recent two cruises that many guests thought that docking at Castaway Cay was guaranteed. While it would be great if this was the case, it simply is not. High winds and/or high waves that could cause the ship to collide with the dock when arriving or leaving, or cause the ship to not be able to make it to the dock, sadly make it so that your Castaway Cay experience cannot happen. On most occasions the captain will attempt to dock at least once before making their decision. Our sailing on the Dream was originally scheduled to end with a day at Castaway Cay. The night before the area saw storms which left high winds and high waves when we arrived j

At Walt Disney World you can be transported to a galaxy far away, and it is every Star Wars fan’s dream come true! Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at the end of August 2019. The entrance to the newest land is located at the very back of Grand Avenue, and in the morning this area is for entering the land while the exit takes guests into Toy Story Land.  As you enter Galaxy’s Edge you are transported to an outpost on Batuu. Disney did such an amazing job of making you feel as if you’ve really gone into a Star Wars movie. The details are amazing! And you never know who you’ll run into. Throughout the day we saw Stormtroopers, Kylo Ren, Chewbacca and Rey.  Galaxy’s Edge has rides, food and drink, and plenty of chances to pick up a souvenir from your trip to the Black Spire Outpost. We checked out as much as we could, but there are so many little details that we’ll still find new things for many, many, many trips to come. I really loved seeing all of the s
